Tandler: Redskins Sunday Practice Report: A Good Day For The Defense

Great post SilentThreat!

good to see DJax out there!

Dammit. No pass rush. And our secondary sucks.

WE ALL GONNA DIE!!

oh...wait

Even Tony Stewart runs over our defense!

Too soon?

I had seen this from Clayton the other day as well:

New England Patriots, Washington Redskins show what can be achieved in dual practices - ESPN

Specifically:

5. Don't judge a defense going against Tom Brady: Redskins reporters and fans were wondering if their defense was going to stink this year while watching the practices against the Patriots. I heard the same thing last year when the Patriots scrimmaged the Eagles. Stop. Brady would make the Steel Curtain look bad in a dual practice. In seven-on-seven and team drills, Brady is unstoppable. Running a hurry-up practice offense, Brady balances smarts with accuracy. Opposing defenses don't have a chance.

Last year, he destroyed an Eagles defense even though he had three rookies among his main targets. The young receivers are still young, but Brady can get the ball to Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola on just about any play. No quarterback is better than hitting an underneath pass in the red zone that could be taken into the end zone. Gruden called it poetry in motion watching Brady throw in practice. It is an honor to watch such perfection.

:smile-new: It's good to hear that one unit outperformed the other but we should not let ourselves get carried away...it's just preseason. thanks for the chuckle OM:chestram2:

Shi, that's exactly what I was expecting.

System QB or not, Brady is going to destroy any team in practice. There are like three greats in the league now, right?

Brady, Brees and Manning will make any defense look stupid in practice. No one's stopping those guys in a seven-on-seven drill.

Not to agree with anybody or anything but El has a point that I was considering while watching the game on DVR on Sunday. :(

Call me a curmudgeon but I thought "Hey, you guys played ok against the Pats in a preseason game after practicing against Tom Brady all week and getting your asses handed to you. Why all the laughing and carrying on on the sideline?"

I found it a tad unprofessional. Not big deal by any stretch, but I just didn't like it. I'd like to see a little more "Eye of the Tiger" and a little less Apollo Creed Uncle Sam dancing.

More Kobe; less Dwight Howard. It's a valid point. He is young though.

I believe practicing against Tom Brady, and our new coaching staff might help in that regard.

I heard that on the radio somewhere too... Ha good one.

But, I'm not just talking about Griffin. He's "their leader" so I expect him to set a tone I guess. Trent Williams comes to mind too but honestly, I tried not to take the game too seriously. I guess I failed! :D

The lack of pads and hat say he was probably done.

But then again Peyton Manning had all of them on and got no flack

Pretty sure it's a joke Mike :)

I didn't see any smiley face!

WE GOT RULES!!!!!

Well, I have the benefit of not recognizing Fear's quirky sense of humor about 100 times in the past - I can mostly tell now when he's gone into 'tongue and cheek' mode :)
