RE: Nascar - I find it hard to consider something that is so involved in machinery a sport. I have a hard time considering golf a sport, and I love playing and watching golf. There are many things I don't consider sports in the Olympics. I consider those things competitions. In no way is that meant to degrade what they do or imply that what they do isn't hard or that I could easily replace them and do just as well, it just isn't a sport in my opinion. If that bothers you then you should consider not letting other people's opinions on what is and isn't a sport bother you, because who the hell cares what anyone else thinks. If you enjoy it then enjoy it and let everyone else kick rocks.![]()
I also have a hard time considering golf a sport, but its more borderline than NASCAR. If you rule out golf, you have to give a hard look at baseball, lol.
I also agree with your last line - who cares if someone doesn't think NASCAR is a sport? If you like watching really fast left turns, then go ahead and enjoy it. Funny that the same people who get up-in-arms about over-sensitivity to the name Redskins will be the first to jump down your throat if you say NASCAR isn't a sport.
