If you subtract RG3's 5 interceptions, and two lost fumbles from his total of 26 TDs, that would put him at 19.

So, Brees at 4,800 yards and 22 TDs. RG3 at 3,852 yards and 19 TDs.

I'd say Brees got screwed pretty hard.

Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh, but that really did make me laugh out loud.

Yards per attempt
Griffin - 8.3
Brees - 7.6

Brees a touchdown every 16 throws
Griffin a touchdown every 19 throws

Griffin an interception every 75 throws
Brees an interception every 35 throws

Let's say we love RG3 but we'll use some math and formula's that we don't pull out of thin air.

Let's take a look at the results of the calculations that have been used to compare NFL QB's for years, this one doesn't ignore interceptions or # of attempts, and I don't believe it subtracts interceptions from touchdowns either. I don't believe it considers rushing stats at all.

Griffin - 104.1
Brees - 94.9

We can also look at the still questionable ESPN QBR.

Griffin - 71.1
Brees - 67.3

Brees didn't even come close to getting screwed.

And oh by the way Holy Crap Mr. Griffin! And that's a great place for us to agree! :cheers:
 
This could provide some extra cash for those willing to gamble, and for anyone that believes RG3 will win ROY.

Right now, for every $100 you bet on RG3 you will win $250.

To win even $100 on Luck, you have to bet $250.
 
SNF, those are good points, especially if you believe QBRs are accurate.

I just believe a guy that produces 4,800 yards and 40 TDs is more productive than a QB with 3,852 yards and 26 TDs.

By a pretty wide margin.

And that's a million times more important than the popularity contest known as the pro bowl.

To be fair, Brees doesn't play defense, so I don't want to confuse team stats with player stats.

Even when we blew hard, London Fletcher was still one of the greatest. Our crappy records didn't lessen his efforts.

Exactly - not to mention they have zero run game in New Orleans, so Brees & the passing attack is the main focus (hence TWICE the attempts as Boone has pointed out multiple times). In DC, they are much more balanced.
 
Griffin just got his 7th rookie of the week award. How can he NOT win ROY?
 
Not sure how he won it over Wilson. About the same yards, better completion %, twice as many TD's, bigger win, tougher opponent.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for him, just doesn't make sense if I try to be objective about it...

I'm going to have to agree, I thought Wilson should have gotten it this week. He did quite well.

It definitely looks like we have a full bandwagon at this point, as Griffin getting votes on things like this (and the Pro Bowl) show. It is nice, however, to have a player we all admire on our team get appreciated for once. Just think of how many years that hasn't been the case?
 
Holy Crap...6 weeks straight now and 10 out of 16 are Redskins, man what a difference a year makes.

My guess would be because Seattle was at home, Redskins were on the road. Seattle's home field advantage being what it is, that dilutes Wilson's accomplishment quite a bit, IMO. Not to mention, Seattle's defense did a lot of the work shutting down the 9ers offense.

EDIT: also, all 4 of Wilson's TDs were from 9-yards in or less, and none of the passes traveled more than 6 yards in the air if I'm not mistaken. Griffin's pass to Moss was a thing of absolute beauty - what a perfect throw!
 
The engravers are currently etching RG3's name on the ROY trophy.

To be fair I didn't watch the seahawks game, so I don't have any context for the stats.

But I could only imagine the uproar that would follow someone dismissing a 4 TD performance from Griffin in such a way :)
