Silas Redd of the Washington Redskins has been suspended indefinitely without pay for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Redd’s suspension begins immediately.

Well. Is all I can say. Some people just cant put the drugs down. Even if your life is all set up for you. Million dollars a game. The team supplying you with all the things you need. Either it be guidance, or a party. Then you go and fall right back into the drugs. Can't say I will miss him.

Isn't this his first offense ?
Don't they just get something like 1 to 4 games for first offense ?

Still seems harsh for a 2nd offense. Typical protocol seems to be one year at worst, for the 2nd offense.

Would you guys be so harsh, if his name was Sultan McCoullough, and not Silas Redd ?

Redd looked as if he was going to be last on the depth chart on a pre-draft team that most think needs to add talent further up the ladder at RB.

So, his chances of being on the opening day roster were not very good.

As to why he couldn't control himself and threw away an NFL career, who knows? Perhaps he has other issues we don't know about.
