Show Yourselves!

I keep getting these FB memory notifications. The irony is, I very rarely post on FB. Like zero. I just answer and leave messages when I get emails.

So here is a memory pic from 2009. From the background, it appears to be a Pez & Huly organized summertime ES tailgate at a Montgomery County park. Good times.

That is, indeed, the outing at Montgomery County park.....Omar and Dara still tailgate with us....

My buddy Neal. He just sent this to me on msn messenger. We went to the same high school, the same college, and we were housemates for a number of years. This is at one of our many tailgates on the ring road. He was not a regular tailgater but he came by to visit. I will guess this pic is 10-15 years ago. That's my truck on the right. Note the I LIKE SONNY sticker on the back window.

Here's DLSF and myself in 2011 - looks like we're at the ES Tailgate pre-season.

Here's another one in 2011 at Canton - that's "Mac" - real name Mark. Army vet. Hardcore fan. Airborne Ranger IIRC. He tailgated often with us on the ring road, but also tailgated often at the ES tailgate. We did several games at the Linc - we both would bring our kids. This was after RR / Halter stopped going, so it was just me and Mac hosting the ES tailgate at the Linc for at least two games. Bunch of walk ups though. But we didn't draw a crowd like RR did. Can't remember Mac's ES handle. I explained to him the reason he loves to go to the Linc is because he loves "jumping into a hot LZ." :p But this photo is Canton.

Grimm induction? Mac's good people and we kinda/sorta keep in touch. He's in Florida now. I didn't realize that Robin was at Canton. She and her husband Tom are regulars at the ES tailgate. The 2010 was a good tailgate but nothing compares to the Green/Monk tailgate and ceremony. We took over the town!

Yes, the Art Monk in 2008 was unbelievable. Darrell Green was inducted too, but Art stole the show. I went to the Grimm too. But this was Chris Hanburger. See my T shirt. :D

DLSF went with me to the Art Monk one. The other two I believe I went by myself. Worth it. Canton was always a lot of fun.

I hope that we can go back for Jacoby one day.....

This popped up on my FB. Posted by ES Skinslov3 - Amy - many moons ago. Monday night game. Naturally, we arrived around noon. Nov 15, 2010. My truck is on the right, Steve's truck on the left. Note the 22" Weber kettle in the back of my truck. Pole positions, ready to eventually make the run to the driveway leading to our spots on the ring road. Hoping the dumb media and cheerleaders don't steal our spaces. Grey day, and for a good reason - we were hosting the Eagles. Yep, that's me wearing DH's original ES ball cap again. And number 36. They should retire #36.

Here's another one, this one from Jan 14, 2006, playoff game @ Seattle. Another grey day, right? Those guys with me - the guy with the original ES hat was likely a staff member but I can't remember his name. There's another familiar looking guy in the background on the left. Those flags and flagpoles and the flag pole mounts I hauled all the way to the west coast in a suitcase. Gotta represent! I made chili at my Dad's house for this game, my mom's recipe doctored by my wife, but it didn't come out right for me. Silly me, I'm wearing a legit gamer serving chili. The tailgate is always good. My buddy Pete is there somewhere. I bet TH will recognize some faces and names. If I remember the story correctly, that koozie is from Redskins Roadtrips / Dave Halter - it had traveled to every road game for a decade or more.

The guy in the black ES hat was not a staff member - I can't remember his member name. On the left, that's ME with the black ES hat with my back turned. The guy in the grey sweatshirt is my friend Phil, and the youngster next to him on the left is my 10 year old son Daniel. Chris was there with his son too - we met each other at that game as we were staying in the same hotel.

Worst NFL experience of my life - screw Seattle fans who made the experience terrible for us - despite my having my 10 year old son with me.

Cold and miserable day all around. Thought we were going to be assaulted by a group of assholes in a pickup truck on the walk back to the hotel. I was so cold I almost wished for a chance to get my blood boiling. Almost.

I remember yelling at Blade and Art while they walked by on the field while We Ready by Archie Eversol was blaring. 🤣

Yes, that Jan 2006 playoff game @ Seattle wasn't much different than some of the Eagles games I've been to. As I recall, they threw a smoke bomb into the middle of our peaceful tailgate. Someone on our side managed to throw it, still burning, on top of the building's roof you see on the right. Lucky the building didn't catch fire. The fans were jazzed up because it was a playoff game. I don't think they're normally that bad. Only good thing, there was no blood spilled that I know of. And btw, it was a trick finding that lot, as there is no drinking permitted within the Seattle city limits anywhere outside. The authorities turned a blind eye on this particular lot. It's literally the only lot in Seattle to have a decent tailgate. Seahawks suck. Seattle sucks. The 12th man in Seattle sucks. Seahawk fans suck. The Space Needle sucks. The flag flying from the needle of the Space Needle sucks. Go 'Skins.
