The tour kicked off in LA on June 9th. I really appreciate the musical composition and the undeniable chops of the band. Though not a fan at all of Getty Lee’s voice (nails on a chalkboard for my ears) the arrangement and performance of the songs is thoroughly outstanding. The big question was how in the world do you replace the late great Neil Peart on drums? Well, enter Anika Nilles. Imported from Germany, she is an absolute superstar in the making and reproduces Pearts formulated style flawlessly. (What do you think Echo Hawk ?)

The tour will perform in Helsinki on April 10, 2027 at the Hartwell Arena. Even though that is not at a time that I am ordinarily here, I could be cajoled into adjusting my travel schedule. Problem is tickets went on sale in February ‘26 and very quickly sold out… 14 months in advance. Oy. Tickets on the secondary market are currently ridiculously overpriced. Maybe that will adjust closer to the concert date. Maybe.

Until then I will have to be satisfied with the video below. Even if you are not a fan, the opening of the video is worth watching alone.

(PS- don’t tell my wife that I’m in love with Anika. ❤️🤫)

I get it - she is amazing. I am like you, appreciate the musical talent of Rush but the vocals have always kept me from being a huge fan.

I'm a huge Rush fan, at least up to Moving Pictures. You don't know how many thousands of hours I studying all of those songs. Probably the most in-depth studying of a band that I have ever done. I don't know maybe I need to take that back? Because I've gone crazy with Jimi, SRV, Zep, Gilmour, Summers, etc... definitely in my top five or six favorite bands

After watching a lot of these songs on the new tour? There's definitely backing tracks there that never used to be there. She doesn't have Tubular Bells, Geddy is not playing The Taurus pedals as much as he used to and also some of the synthesizer tracks Etc. Also her drum kit is MUCH smaller than Neils... there's a lot of pieces missing that Neil used to have and use. Just stating the obvious

Hey RedWolf , as a gear head you may enjoy this Rick Beato interview with Alex Lifeson. Alex drops some nuggets about his sound and the eq (including pedals) that he used/uses to create it.
