Ron Rivera to the Jets? 🤦‍♂️

The media in that NY market would eat RR alive. Can't possibly be anything more than a courtesy nod, merely for public consumption. If Johnson's Jets are in bad shape now, just hire RR and watch him work his magic.

Ron is a really bad gm...questionable HC...but a really good person

I wish him luck. He probably doesnt need the money anymore. Would he make a better coordinator or pos coach?

Yeah, I would be stunned if they hired Rivera. Ryan? Maybe, although I think he would find out quickly that the NFL has changed a lot since the last time he's been on the sidelines. If I were the Jet's owner, I'd be cruising the hotshot young college coaching ranks looking for the next big thing. Because it's doubtful a retread can rescue that mess of a franchise. And the ones that might be able to aren't going to want to deal with that owner or Aaron Rodgers.

Stunned for sure. I think Rex can probably still coach and lead, but I agree that there's been so much change since he was last on the sidelines. One good thing about Ryan is he can put together a very strong staff, which would help tremendously. For the sake of Jets fans, I hope they move on from Rodgers.

As Chris mentioned, Rooney rule hurdle cleared.

Rivera has made it clear: he wants to coach in ANY capacity; head coach OR DC. Rex Ryan (the other RR?) - I think he is too arrogant to go for DC right now? Not sure. Anyway, it could be double-horrible RRs in play for NYJ. Stay tuned as they find more creative ways to not field good teams. I am not a fan of Rex Ryan - I actually don't think he is a horrible head coach, but I don't like the guy and I also don't see him able to win the Super Bowl. I think he did OK with his personnel before, but not great, and his enormous ego combined with limited analytical skills will always bias me to being a huge doubter.
