Rodgers says he will sign with the Steelers and be at the Steelers mandatory mini camp next week.

Steelers open the season at the Jets. After the way Aaron Glenn treated AR I personally want Rodgers to throw for 385 yds. and 5 TD's :triumphant:

That would be great. After that I' be rooting for him to suck. I am so sick of him and his primadonna ways.

It's crazy that a player as gifted as Aaron Rodgers has burned so many bridges that fans don't even want him under center for their team anymore.

I always do brother. Who else am I going to speak for? :)

Truth. Even if we didn't have JD5 or Marcus, I'd want to shoot myself in the face if we signed him.

I know he's a bit of a kook but he just oozes "winner". If I had a team with a small window to win it all hell yes I'd want Rodgers as my QB. Who else Kirk "Choke Artist " Cousins ? :p

I dunno. HIs 12-10 playoff record is pretty pedestrian. Rogers and his Packers fell short of expectations many times. Lot of upsets. More recently, Rogers has been oozing a lot, but none of it smells like winning.

Rodgers' best years were squandered by the Packers after they won the Super Bowl. After the years of misery that we had in Washington, I've always had some resentment that the Packers got back to back HoF QBs and only 2 trophies to show for it.

I'm sure the Packers being left to rot by their GM had some influence in making Rodgers think he should choose who plays and coaches. It sucks. I want to like him, but I also want him to move back into his windowless box and let the rest of the league move on in peace.

I'm in ATL and listen to sports talk radio when driving. This whole city wants him gone.

I tried to tell 'em...Kirk gonna Kirk...no one listened. (And I have a fantastic seat for this season's game, no matter the QB...I know mine is fuckin' awesome, resilient, and honest.)

I reaaly liked Cousins coming out of Michigan St and thought he was a steal when the Skins drafted him. But when he hit FA all that changed. $$ was his new God. What set me over the edge with this jerk :poop:was when he was pitting the Jets against the Vikings for his services. Nothing wrong with that but he and his wife had the gaul to make a video of it . Laughing all the way on how they were screwing over and using the Jets to get more $$ from Minny. Lost ALL respect for him at that point.

Rodgers is kind of a joke at this point. He could still be great but he has none of what Brady had, which is why his team always choked in the playoffs. The Steelers are going to be disappointed, and the fans already know it too.

Favres last play in the NFL was that INT in the playoffs when they should have won the game, how perfect was that? Farve always did that.

Rodgers needs to have as his last play a repeat of what happened in one of his playoff games vs the 49ers. He was back to pass at around the 5 yard line, nobody was open, the field in front of him had nobody for 10 yards in any direction. He could have easily ran it in and won the game. He did not run. He instead made a lame throw that was easily knocked down. Kirkish play IMO.

He just doesn't have that drive to win at all costs, or anything even close to that. And now he's old.

I remember a play where Brady in the playoffs with the Bucs ran on 3rd or 4th down for 5-6 yards getting hit and making a funny face because he was so excited that he made it to the marker. He was probably 44 at the time and had already won 6 Super Bowls. Because of that run he was able to win a 7th.

In comparison Rodgers plays like it's a scrimmage. It's like he's already on the golf course.

In the Navy we had a term. It was called being on the "ROAD" program. Which is an acronym for someone who just has a few months left and is just counting days, mentally absent from everything. "Retired On Active Duty" describes Aaron Rodgers too. He just won't go away. Must need the money.

It is amazing how Rodgers followed the steps of Favre in so many ways. Not just being a great Packer QB but also making an assclown out of himself and teams that sign him late in his career.

They are both pretty high on the playoff choke scale. Favre never beat any great QB in the playoffs. He beat Grbac, Collins and Bledsoe their one SB winning year and probably loses the SB if not for Desmond Howard and Bledsoe throwing several picks. They were heavily favored the next year vs the Broncos and blew it.

Rodgers beat Vick, Hanie/Cutler, and Roethlisberger. Big Ben threw 2 picks and Mendenhall lost a fumble, GB had 0 turnovers yet still barely won. That is his only SB. Then Rodgers lost at GB to Eli Manning after going 15-1. Then he lost multiple times to Kaepernick and Garoppolo. It's not like he was getting booted by the 2013 Seahawks. Almost every good QB beat Rodgers in the playoffs and several scrubs did too.

Ryan, Palmer, Warner, and Brady are 4-0 vs Rodgers. Eli and Wilson are both 1-1.

He did beat the Joe Webb led Vikings at home in the playoffs though.

Of course he's a HOFer but what an underachiever. He's Marino with a string of good luck one year. Marino had to beat Montana though and that 49ers defense was one of the best ever.

I think, even for a player of Aaron Rodger's talent level, that it is very very difficult to play well at the NFL QB position if you aren't 1000% committed. We are entering, what, maybe the 4th straight season where Rodgers has had to take an extended hiatus just to decide whether he even wanted to trot back out there again?

That, for me anyway, raises serious questions about just how motivated and committed he is to doing everything he can to help his team win and be the best version of himself he can be. And it's why he should never ever be compared to the greatness of Tom Brady.

I remember Coach Parcells saying " If you're thinking of retiring .............you're retired. "

Parcells had a lot of great 'maxims'... But yeah, at this level of athletics you are either 100% committed or you are on your way out.
