PHILADELPHIA – Redskins offensive lineman Trent Williams said NFL umpire Roy Ellison referred to him as a “garbage a** disrespectful motherf*****” during the team’s 24-16 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.

Williams was then chastised by teammates, who told him he would be fined for sharing that. Williams responded that he did not care, that people needed to know.

Standing next to him was offensive lineman Kory Lichtensteiger, who verified that the interaction occurred. He said he was wearing a microphone during the game if the league wants to verify.

“I’ve never heard anything like that before in my life,” Lichtensteiger said. “These guys, I don’t know what it was, but especially that guy (Ellison) came out with some kind of a vendetta.”

NFL policy allows a pool reporter to speak to the referee about controversial elements of the game. After I requested that, a Philadelphia media relations person led me to the Eagles locker room, to talk with designated pool reporter Reuben Frank.

Because Frank was conducting interviews, the media relations official suggested that I serve the role, and I was escorted to the officials’ locker room.

The security guard said the officials had left, and they were on a bus about 20 yards away. I walked over to the bus, and requested to the driver that he get Walt Coleman, head referee.

Coleman came to the window and asked how he could help me. I repeated Williams’ comments, and asked him to comment on whether that occurred. He said OK, then directed the driver to roll up the window.

After the window of the bus was rolled up, it then began driving and left the facility. No further comment was given.

I got this from Huly, I don't know if any of yall have seen it yet. IMO if the audio is there, that official should be done.

That is completely inexcusable. If verified, someone needs to lose their job over that ****.

Maybe that pos DeMaurice Smith can do something positive for us instead of helping our cap disappear.

Hopefully the audio is there. If it isn't just hope this doesn't come back to bite us and other ref's will call our games different. It isn't supposed to happen, but it does. Another concern is Goodell sweeps this under the rug.

Anybody else think it was a bad idea for Williams to go public with this ?
I mean, if the commissioner, the committees, and the refs already have a thing against us, it's only going to make matter worse.
If we're going to complain about refs, save it for something significant, like horrible calls, rather than "name-calling"

I don't see how it can get much worse for us. We all know the Ref's are against us

This soap opera is a debacle. But every team feels like the refs hate them. Patriots fans, from last weekend are a good example.

The refs loved us in the San Diego game. Let's hope this doesn't destroy it.

Pats fans complaining about the refs.... that was great wasn't it? :D
