REDSKINS SIGN WR JERRY RICE, JR.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed college free agent wide receiver Jerry Rice, Jr. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. In addition, the team announced that they have waived cornerback Blake Sailors.

Rice, Jr. (5-10, 185) had tryouts with the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers this offseason.

Rice, Jr., 22, played collegiately at UCLA from 2009-12 before transferring to UNLV where he appeared in nine games for the Rebels in 2013.

Rice, Jr., son of Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, attended Menlo H.S. in Atherton, Calif. where he earned two varsity letters playing wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner. He was born on July 27, 1991.

Meh...camp fodder. Kinda like Darrell Green's son...talented enough, but not for the NFL. Probably went as far as the name would take him and I expect the same here. He is already on his 3rd NFL team this year.
