Good morning from Tel Aviv

I will always be pro-cord and anti-app. Because I DVR virtually everything I plan to watch and use the FF, Pause and RW button liberally.

I dvr everything I want to watch on YouTube TV. That's really the only reason I have it because I can't stand to watch anything with commercials.

So you don't need Comcast etc. to dvr your shows.

I know I might be late to this one, but I just cancelled our cable TV. Xfinity was charging me over $220 a month for basic channels and internet. It took a week to complete the cancellation from start to finish. I think they make cancellation difficult as a deterrent.

One advantage to cable was that I didn't need smart TV's. Now I need them.

TV's are cheaper nowadays so this won't be too difficult replacing them BUT I now have to learn the differences between smart platforms like ROKU and FIRE. I chose FIRE for the pool table TV today and that wasn't too difficult. I chose FIRE since I already have an Amazon account but no idea if FIRE is the best or not.

An update to my smart TV situation. Instead of replacing all my dumb TV's with smart TV's, I've decided to buy a couple of the Fire TV sticks. These are little plug ins that you insert into an open HDMI port on your TV. All the apps like Tubi, Pluto, Disney, etc. are loaded on the stick along with a Wi-Fi interface for streaming. The cheap one with basic HD is $15 and the better 4K max HD ones are less than $50.

Would ya believe, you can now watch every episode of Maxwell Smart ?

I miss my dad terribly.

I feel that.
Almost every night, I have dreams about him that are so realistic and vivid, that even a minute or two after waking up, I literally think/believe/feel as though he's still physically alive.
And it's been almost 20 years since we lost him

You never actually lost him. He’s still with you, just in a different dimension. Your dreams are the evidence, he is checking in on you. Take comfort in that.

Back to Medellin at the end of the month for 10 nights. The weather there is gorgeous

You mean you're reading my soliloquy on my gardening plans? I AM the Home Vegetable Garden thread. And yeah, I guess you are bored.

Wasted 4 years of my life...

Nothing is a complete waste.
It just goes behind the scenes to cause the whole puzzle to work out in the end.
Even in nature, when something dies completely, nature has a way of recycling it by itself to create something new out of it.

Get busy living or get busy dying...

I knew it was coming
