Apparently this happened June 17th, 2025, in Corona, which is part of the great Los Angelas area. High that day was 96. Baby was in visible distress.

It always makes me giggle when people from the DC area say they couldn’t live in Florida because of the heat and humidity. The DMV has more oppressive weather in the summer than anywhere I have lived. Does it last longer in Florida. You betcha.

Now let’s talk winter. 🤣

Boy I don't know about that. They have weather like today for 3 months, we get it for a few days here and there.

Some wild weather here in South Bethany. Hot as Hell on the beach yesterday, then a storm blew through and dropped the temps big time. Today was not as hot but an even bigger storm is finishing up now. My friend brought his jon boat to go crabbing, it's so full of water he is concerned his motor will be ruined. Lightening looks to finally be stopping, he's putting 2 five gallon buckets full of water on the front to level the boat.

Very pleasant mid-summer, late morning walk in the suburbs of Helsinki. 64°, 47% humidity, and breezy.

Well the boat didn't sink and we are about to go crabbing here in South Bethany. Friend knows what he is doing with a 1,000 foot trotline. Crabbing, then a bike ride followed by a nap and eventually a table full of crabs is my favorite day of the year.

Hopefully you get crabs bigger than the ones I see in stores. I haven't seen a good sized crab since leaving the Philippines 6 years ago. But it might just be my location all that time. Tennessee and the western part of VA.

We're going back to the Philippines in 3 weeks though. I told my wife all I'm eating for that month is seafood. If it's as cheap as usual we won't be spending too much money either. Chicken is more expensive in the US than most seafood is in the Philippines.

I loved the street vendor soups in Thailand and the Phillipines. Granted, I couldn't tell you what half the ingredients were, but man they were delicious. And the prawns in that part of the world are bigger than your hands and amazing.

Yeah I can't wait. 4 shrimps per pound. They are almost forearm size shrimp lol.

The days are getting progressively shorter now. I can no longer read outside at midnight. These photos were taken just past 10pm last night. It’s not full sunshine until 4:30am now.

Update. One of my favorite days of the year got better when I learned that 2 young people in the group wanted to go crabbing. So after a few hours I was dropped off and they came on board which allowed me to go the beach for a few hours before the nap. I learned that rinsing off in an outdoor shower and then going for a bike ride on a hot sunny day is pretty f-ing awesome.
