It was a pain to have to get up and change the channel on the TV growing up, there's no denying it.

Of course, there were only 6 or 7 channels to choose from, so that is also something to keep in mind :ROFLMAO:

Growing up outside DC in the 60's/early 70's there was channel 4, 5, 7, 9, 20 and I think we also got 45 from Baltimore. Crazy to think about now. And 'remote control' would've sounded a lot like magic to us back then.

You had a lot of choices then. I was living in Hampton in the 70s and I think we had 3-4 channels.

Yeah me too and it's amazing the number of shows that are about military members being murdered for that 100-500k life insurance policy they give us.

26 PBS also? But that channel sucked back then. I remember the beginning of cable TV. I remember the beginning of MTV and they only had one video which was Video Killed the Radio Star. The first remote controls were called Clickers because they literally clicked when you hit the button

I built out a lot of the major internet backbone with UUNet when I was with Cisco. Also the first publicly available internet on cell phones with Motorola and Nextel. I used to be very proud of that, but now I'm not so sure. I feel kind of like I was on the research team for the first atomic bombs sometimes
