Random Commanders Thoughts

She obviously resigned before being fired/not having her contract renewed in June. And she clearly thought the resignation would stop the investigation. I'm glad that isn't the case.

USA Today just fired this reporter

I gotta admit… the quote made me laugh.

USA TODAY Sports has ended its contractor relationship with Crissy Froyd effective immediately.

“Her recent statements do not reflect our commitment to professionalism or uphold our principles of ethical conduct."

Yup. They are for misconduct. A company with values!

In a way. Bc she weirdly also revealed her own issues during it. She admitted that she developed a physical relationship with JT Daniels after his NFL career was over, after covering him for a while. But she wrote an article arguing he had the best HS QB career in history just a year or two ago, or something. She was trying to explain how it was different but ended up just exposing her own drama in her excitement to throw Russini under the bus when nobody asked her to do that

So I think it’s more so that she just made things even messier lol

How does this comport with "a former girlfriend of Ricky Sanders checked me in for my first mammogram?" Because that happened, I was wearing team gear and we got to chattin'.

Which would you prefer to return to Ashburn, if both were available and team leadership decided to move on from our resident coach/philosopher Mediocrates next year: Kyle or Boy Wonder

McVay for sure. He is smarter than Kyle, and without the douchiness.

Same for me (McVay). But in his defense Kyle is growing into a bit of late middle age gruffy assholishness that is overtaking the young douchiness, and I think if he was ours it would grow on us 😂

Seems the rumors are that McVay with his young family will eventually transition into a less workaholic media gig rather than keep coaching. Idk if a guy wired like him can really do that and be happy, but I guess we’ll find out

By going over his head so to speak and drafting Ty Simpson on his own Les Snead is perhaps already planning for a post-McVay world with the Rams.

I wonder if McVay has voiced his wish to downshift a bit if he is able to win a Super Bowl with Stafford and then both are going to ride off into the sunset?

Well, we’ve been hearing those rumors about McVay for a few years now. He’s so young though still so it seems a little crazy. Perhaps he just needs a change of scenery.

Maybe there is a world where he comes available in the next year or two and we just happen to have an opening 😁😁

That means we are starting over again and will be trading out guys like Styles and Conerly Jr. :behindsofa:

I don't want to go through yet another transition this quickly.

Most teams hire a new staff with the goal that they utilize their players better and more efficiently. Regime change doesn’t always mean mass roster turnover, people are just scarred remembering going from 4-3 to 3-4 and back, or ZBS to power gap etc. These days adaptability is the name of the game.

That doesn't happen in Washington. The turnover here has been unreal. Never seen so many players in and out in my life.

Cowher did it. He wasn’t very old when he retired.

But that’s about the only one I can think of.

Dick Vermeil also did, but he came back 10-12 years later and then couldn’t quit.

And I’d also take McVay, but I absolutely wouldn’t mind Kyle. I think he gets a bad rap. Is he arrogant? Yeah. But most people at that level who have that type of drive are.

Because the majority of those players have sucked and needed to be turned over.

Guys like mclaurin, Payne, Way and Reaves, all pre Rivera are still here because they dont suck and the few players who didn't suck that Rivera brought in are still here too.

Connerly doesn't seem to suck and hopefully Styles doesn't either and if thats the case they'll be here through another regime, that is of course assuming we dont start acquiring talent in such quantity that we have to shed some for cap purposes in which case none of us will care.

So entirely random, but I mentioned ai was a swim official. I was doing the job of “chief judge” today which is essentially middle management of the officials. I collect information from the Stroke and Turn officials who are watching the swimmers and reporting infractions and relay it to the Referee who is in charge of everything.

One of the jobs of the S&T judges is at the start of backstroke, the have to make sure the toes of the swimmer don’t wrap over the gutter of the pool. (Why this is a rule that has to be watched for or enforced, I have no idea.). Usually, the judge who watches for that then is there to judge other things, but for the race today, it was just one length of the pool and they literally had nothing to do after the start.

So I walked up to one of the judges and asked how it was going, you should check in every so often. And she replied, “Kindof boring, we’re just watching toes.”

And it took all of the professionalism I had to stop myself from saying “this would not be boring to Rex Ryan. It would be his dream job.”

I didn’t say it. But I thought it very loudly.
