Random Commanders Thoughts

OMG OMG OMG

Hittin' the road for the first time in a long time...I drive like the grandma I am, and I haven't driven on a highway in years. And yes, I can navigate my area in ATL without a GPS doo-hickey completely by back trax.
Meeting up with Goskins10 for the game in Macon. Truck ( Steve )needs a road trip, and so do I.

I slept from 0100 till about 0430...OMG OMG OMG

CRod's probably asking the same thing today.

Peters withdrew himself from contention for any job that offseason (and at least one other offseason), he was really happy in SF and truly waited for the perfect opportunity, knowing he had a great rep around the league. New ownership, freedom to rewrite the whole roster, freedom to hire his own HC, monster cap space and healthy cap future, and the #2 overall pick in a strong QB year all lured him here. It truly was meant to be for him. Hopefully he drafts well enough and navigates FA well enough to be around a long time. Jayden will certainly make his job easier, he chose the right year to finally take a GM job.

Perks of hurry up include not goading your own OL into false starts.

Watching the Bears game Caleb slow playing at the line yelling out garbage gets his G to jump.

Punt.

OK, I don't wanna be the B-word of mods, but can we keep things in their lane?

This has nothing to do with our team, not even a random thought to our team. Comments like these need to go in the NFL random thoughts or something.

Lions are done as innovators, glad we could give them that final ass-whooping in the playoffs as a send-off to their talented coordinators. That fanbase did not handle going from lovable losers to contenders well, and now the window is shut.

Thought we were going to be competing with the Lions for years as NFC top dogs but I don’t think so. Eagles and Packers with a side of Rams, I guess. The lanes are clearing for our ascension

And the above has nothing to do with our team. Please find proper threads.

For all of Snyder’s (numerous) faults, at least he never did this. LMAO

If she knows her stuff, knows how to read the call sheet, and knows what she's listening to, I have no idea with an owner educating herself. As long as she doesn't start calling plays.

Mark Cuban was courtside and in a lot of huddles and he explained it as "how am I going to evaluate people if I can't see them work?"

The problem with Snyder is if he did this, he wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between the game being called and Mary had a little lamb being played over the headset.

There is no better thread for tangentially related Commanders things than this “Random Commanders Thoughts Thread” imo. Things related to our competitiveness with conference rivals has to do with us, not the rest of the NFL. It’s a Commanders-centric viewpoint!

No offense at all but if you can post in this thread about driving to go watch the game, I think it’s equally appropriate to post about how we whooped up on a conference rival in the playoffs and will continue to do so because they’re getting worse instead of better. That’s a random Commanders thought that just happens to involve the Lions, with an educational tweet attached.

I’m new here though so I’ll defer to veterans, if that’s not the way this thread is used. There’s 1,750 pages of random thoughts in here though, only tangentially related to Washington, so I’d be surprised if this didn’t fit.

Josh Harris said the same thing about sitting in on our draft war room btw. That his job is to learn what this FO is doing and why, and gain the ability to evaluate them as the owner. Seems smart to me, it doesn’t imply an intent to interfere so much as learn. So that in the future when you’re interviewing new GM’s and coaches and watching them work, you know when they’re full of shit or doing things in an unorthodox manner.
