We're all human. It shows you how underappreciated Gibb's accomplishments are though. It's sort of amazing he ever made it to the HOF given he's so rarely mentioned as one of the greatest all time HCs. Good for him for acknowledging the mistake.

Gibbs gets overlooked like Art Monk was overlooked. They weren't media darlings.

I remember in 1991 during Superbowl week the media panning Joe because he was,in their words, a boring interview.

Very wrong to skew the accomplishments of a great coach based on his interaction with the media.

That makes it even more impressive. He did it in an era with stable QBs and he had none. His teams were overlooked because they were not flashy, and also because people think of the 49ers in the 80s and the cowboys in the 90s. National media can’t think much beyond those two teams.

which is terrible, because that 91 team was as explosive as it gets... the team just never prioritized the media coverage.

Well I’m assuming this guy knows more about Drake Maye than I do, and to hear him compare him to Mac Jones was stunning. I have to be more open to Jayden Daniels or a trade down. We gotta trust our guys to do the right thing. It’s not Ron or Dan making the picks anymore.

This guy (and his podmate) also rated Washington near the bottom of attractive GM and HC destinations - which looks to be horribly wrong so far. I heard a lot of discussion about DC as if Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen were still running things in that interview. So color me skeptical he's a QB savant. His statement that Drake Maye doesn't have an 'NFL arm' is what got my attention - because the guy has a cannon for an arm and can make all the throws. If you want to attack his accuracy and decision-making, okay - but I haven't hear ANYONE question his arm strength until now.

I do have a sneaking suspicion that Jayden Daniels might be the sneaky good QB in this draft that gets underrated by almost everyone and ends up looking like a guy who should've been taken with a top 3 pick. But that's just a feeling from an uneducated fan

He definitely gets a few strikes with the Washington Destination being towards the bottom and the Drake Maye arm Strength. Almost makes me wonder if he has an ulterior motive here.

I'm a little disappointed Keim didn't hone in on that and press him a bit - because that's definitely a questionable assessment.

Exactly what I was thinking with Keim. That statement really needed clarification.

Mueller has been out of the NFL since 2018, spending much of the past 4-5 years with teams in the XFL, USFL, etc.

He's 62 now so that puts him out of the NFL at 56-57? That's early for a GM. Teams were calling Ron Wolf when he was 71 years old.

It appears he made some nice moves early on in Seattle when he was there in the early 2000's and was able to trade Ricky Williams from New Orleans and get Miami to pony up picks for him.

But I don't see any great insights into the quarterback position from Mueller during his time in these stops.

Joe Barry was fired as Packers DC.

It’s amazing to me that a guy who was DC on a 0-16 Lions team and then came here and looked pretty pedestrian was able to resurface with an organization like GB.

While it may not be happening at head coach as often anymore it appears the tradition of retreads on coaching staffs has not gone out of vogue.
