First off, good for him. 12.5 sacks is a good year for anyone and he got paid. Secondly, how bad is the pass rush on both teams when 6 sacks for 17 games is the leader? Thirdly, I see this all the time. Guys who play for a team and then go somewhere else, the fans think they always perform better for another team. Because they didn’t see them every play of every game. They see the highlights and the times they made plays and think that was every play and wonder why he didn’t do that with their team. Looking at his stats from this year, he pretty much did the same in Chicago that he did in Washington. Maybe the grades are better, but the stats are pretty even and some stats are better in his 8 games in Washington.

Poor timing for Montez here in DC.

If the team had not resigned Payne to a long term deal Sweat could have stayed.

And to be honest I think retaining Allen and resigning Sweat is what I would have done.

I would have traded Young as they did but I would have also traded Payne's rights at the time. I was concerned that 14 sack season was a contract year outlier and that's not who Payne is year in and year out.
 
Harbaugh's group putting on a rushing/blocking clinic in the first quarter vs. Washington. So fun to watch that physical brand of football where a unit just imposes their will upon a defense. I could get behind that real quick. If we needed any more evidence that building an absolute dominant offensive line is paramount, this might be it.🙂
 
I'm torn watching this game. I don't like Michigan, so I'm inclined to root against them. But if Harbaugh is coming here, I want them to win. If he's not going to come here, screw the wolverines, go Huskies.
 
Well, I think it is clear Harbaugh is coming to the NFL now - nothing else to achieve in college.

It appears though that he has some in with the Raiders through Yee his agent and Brady who is now a minority owner in the team.

Why anyone would want to go to the Raiders where Mark Davis has made blunder after blunder during his tenure is an open question, unless Brady is now going to be involved in personnel as well.
 
I dunno, but Harbaugh actually does feel like a Raiders coach. He's got that outcast vibe.
 
Harbaugh will be linked to every coaching opening. He could fit in any place. We all know the links here and the belief of some that Harris had conversations with him before this year. He definitely seems like a Raiders kind of coach. He played for the Chargers. I don’t know of any connections to Carolina or Atlanta, but he could go to Atlanta and win that weak division. Their coach was so awful that even below average coaching would have won that division. And then New England, if Belichick is gone, Kraft would want a guy like Harbaugh to succeed him. So he could pretty much pick his job situation and salary at this point.

I know this will resonate with you guys. This is for anyone who invests themselves in sport ... guessing there isn't one of you who can't put yourselves in Rich's chair.

 
Thank you for sharing, Mark. I would be lying if I said that piece didn't give me goosebumps and get me teary-eyed. I do believe we will get to experience the feeling Rich described one day again. If not, I don't think any of us would invest time time we do into this. The struggles and pain will all one day make sense...the marking of time indeed.

Those Eagles players listed as pending free agents are mostly 30 year plus guys that Philly added as complementary to their core.

Graham is 36 and Cox is 34.

Those guys 3 or 4 years ago would be big time additions.

I doubt Washington is interested in adding older players who are clearly past their primes.
 
My point was that Philly has a ton of roster decisions to make and little cap space currently available. They also have a QB on a very high priced contract that limits the money to be spread around.

We have relatively few on contract but not as many as the Eagles.
 
Again, though, I would suspect that the Eagles GM is not going to make available 25 or 26 year old players that are just entering their prime years.

So, Kelce says he's retiring. Graham and Cox will be released or will retire.

Darius Slay will probably be one of the cuts as that secondary with him and Bradberry has looked old and slow the past few weeks.

Swift is an OK back but I really think Brian Robinson is a better all around player and a helluva lot cheaper.

If the Eagles are looking to trade Devonta Smith, though, that might be interesting :)
