Random Commanders Thoughts

I mean, the entire franchise is being blown up. I think we are well beyond ‘slight’

Slowik just got to Houston this year and has taken a rookie to a winning season. Not much?

Lafleur didn't lose consecutive games in 55 games.

They've done more than we have with any coach since they left. I'm not sure why you're trying to defend anything regarding what this organization has done

To be fair, Slowick is in his first year as the OC in Houston. He had the Texans on a path to the playoffs with a rookie QB before Stroud was injured.

And an Ohio state QB while at it

They suck in the NFL!!

And the Giants looked to have found a future HOF coach - for a season. Now? Maybe not.

Why can we not just agree that some talented coaches moved on and have had success? We could also consider that their coaching experiences in Washington may have helped them develop. But we don’t want to acknowledge that possibility because it doesn’t fit the narrative that everything in Washington has been toxic.

There can be nuanced opinions - it doesn’t always need to be black and white

Every single person in that picture is on a winning team and contributing to their success. Matt is 8-8 and we wish we could be that on our best year since 2013.

That picture shows how bad our franchise is ran.

I heard some NFL national reporter saying that the Giants coach was the best coach in the NFL and if the Chargers were smart they would offer their first round pick this year to get him as their coach, I almost choked when I heard that and said to my son who was in the car with me that this nut must be a giants fan..... new-york-giants-brian-daboll-chargers-trade

Of all the people in that picture, the one they should go hard after is the Suns Gorilla. Do whatever it takes to get that gorilla to Fed Ex field.

To be fair the Texans are 9-7 and could be 10-7 in an hour or so. They are ascending after years of mismanagement.

They did things the right way.

They drafted the quarterback but also signed a capable tight end in Dalton Schultz to support him.

The Texans also have a 4 time pro bowl LT protecting Stroud’s blindside and acquired Shaq Mason to play guard who won 2 Super Bowls with New England.

On defense tonight you are seeing an excellent group of linebackers, Anderson is among the league leaders in pass rush win percentage.

Young corners taken in draft seem to be solid as well.

I've seen that joke circulate for years now but usually it's Jordan commenting on the current Bulls team or Magic commenting about the current Lakers.

The latest rumor is Belichick to the Chargers not Washington. I wonder what Kraft is looking for in terms of compensation?

I don't believe in giving up draft choices for coaches, especially in today's NFL where due to parity a 'good' coach can take your team all the way to the Super Bowl like Doug Pederson or Zac Taylor.

Paul McCartney and John Lennon once wrote a song about the 2023 Washington Commanders.

McCartney
It's getting better all the time.
Better
Better
Better
It's getting all the time

Lennon
Can't get no worse

Goodbye to Ron...................and EB - don't let the door hit you on the way out :poop:

Coming in with a first year starting quarterback you sure didn't do much to protect him over these 17 games. In fact, it's hard to find ANY NFL commentators that agree with your approach to having a 23 year old lead the league in attempts and finish 32nd in rushing in the NFL.

What a ******* mess.

I’m pretty sure Thomas was one of the guys bitching and whining about EB. He strikes me as that kind of guy. If he wasn't already on the list to move on from, that seals it. The funny thing is, he apparently thinks he's brave and a leader for voicing this shit.

I hope the next time I see him he's committing an unnecessary penalty or dropping a catchable pass in someone else's uniform.

Logan Thomas is one of the soft, finesse guys we need to buy a bus ticket for.

The guy has spent half of his time in DC on IR or nursing nagging injuries and hasn’t done much since 2020.

He can’t block a lick.

Early morning thought.

When it came down to the end, most of the players on defense acted like we were the team that had the playoff game locked up and took the day off. Starter after starter opted out, claiming injury instead of gutting it out and winning one for the Gipper. John Allen, most of our secondary, all those guys who said they would run through a brick wall for coach... threw in the towel. And the backups fought, for a half before wilting.

Rivera said he built a culture. He was proud of the culture he built. That culture was built of tissue paper. In the end, too many on defense didn't give a damn. I'm picking on the defense here because at least the offensive players put themselves on the field. At least they showed up. On defense? Most of them treated it like a practice and took a vet day off.
