Hmmm. Still can't afford Shohei.

On a serious note, I'd love to see them beef up the interior of the O-Line through free agency. If they take a top tackle like we expect, then a good use of the cap space would be to improve the interior. Maybe they even can sign a real LB onto this team.

How Washington is it that the teams most successful week of the season after week 2 is their bye week?
 
All you locals and others who are knowledgeable of the DMV. The Caps/Wizards are moving to Virginia in the Potomac Yard area. What is the impact of a future football complex in VA? Does this kill VA as a spot? Does it enhance their chances? Does it put more pressure on DC to make it happen downtown somewhere?

Geographically, no. They're not even close. Potomac Yard is about 1/2 mile due south of Ronald Reagan National Airport. Its not far outside of the city at all.

The two spots that were considered for the football complex are much further south, and way north west. The Yellow circles on the below map

There is a big difference in selecting a site large enough for a 70,000 plus attendance stadium and an arena of 20-25,000 for NBA and NHL.

Potomac Yards is IMO the perfect place for Leonsis to park these teams.

Going to Caps games on a pretty frequent basis over the years, many of the fans are from Virginia in any case. Local support for the team is limited within DC proper.

A proposed football stadium IMO is NOT going to come that close in to the city.

What Virginia realizes that DC does not is the municipality is not going to get teams to stay for 'hometown' discounts.

Pollin built the Cap One Center and paid for it out of his own pocket. All DC was asked to do was prepare and execute a plan for maintenance and security for the facility.

DC failed miserably. After putting out a bond issue for $600M to lure the Nationals to DC, Mayor Bowser evidently told Leonsis a couple of years ago with a straight face that the city didn't have money for increased security and police presence or to conduct any major renovations of the site.

So, now DC is stuck with ONE team.

And ironically the teams that are leaving are the ones that provide the lion's share of tax revenue to the city and Leonsis actually spends money on the teams.

The team that is staying? The Nationals have traded every recognizable player to fans since 2019 and after getting a free stadium from the City no longer invests any real dollars in their enterprise.

90 year old Ted Lerner was willing to spend a significant share of revenue on players to win a championship as he was born in DC and watched two other teams leave the city.

His son Mark Lerner is like the owners in Pittsburgh, take the revenue share from MLB and trade any veterans or younger players coming off team control.
 
Just made Howell's job a lot more difficult. Robinson was putting up #2 wide receiver numbers in terms of catches and yardage in some of the previous games.

We know the team won't run the ball enough for the ground game to be affected much :p

I don't think it's that big an issue - Gibson is more than capable of picking up that slack.
 
I hope by 'some Front Office people' they mean, 'everyone but Eugene Shen'. I don't want Marty Hurney sticking around, and for God's sake don't retain Jason Wright. I think I want to see Wright go as badly as anyone.

Meanwhile we sit back and hope Howell can get 2 seconds to set his feet before getting blasted.
 
2/4 of those guys wanted out by being completely mis-handled by management

the most damning thing isn't that they're gone, it's the complete lack of attention we've given it since....
 
I agree. My point is these guys are all still starting whether dominant or not and we have the equivalent of the XFL on the line
