How so?

The short version is that there was a recent interview with Wright about Bienemy and that Wright made a number of statements like ‘the culture change we have been trying to create here has taken major leaps forward since EB arrived’. The implication was that Bienemy is a stronger leader and that these comments didn’t set well with Rivera who actually declined when invited to make comments for that same interview.

In that context, the idea would be that Rivera’s comments, (ncluding talking about he and Del Rio having HCing experience where they’ve ‘learned’) were designed to bring Bienemy down a couple notches. Apparently Wright and Rivera are not close at all. And he may feel threatened by Bienemy.

And we thought the drama was over …

Except...wasn't Rivera the one to bring in Bienemy? Wright had nothing to do with that side of the house.

Unless Snyder wanted him (as a diversity pick). Being willing to hire him is one thing. Supporting him when he becomes wildly popular and is a threat to take your place is another. Yesterday was 100% created by Rivera and whether intentional or not, he undermined his own OC publicly.

I don't think the former owner had a thing to do with it. He had cleaned his office at Ashburn out by that point and knew he was on the way out. He didn't need or care about a show of diversity when EB was hired.

And yeah, totally created by Rivera. He could have easily deflected that question or outright supported EB. He made a choice.

In their parting ‘letter’ the Snyder’s mentioned they had assembled the ‘most diverse’ organization in the NFL 3 times.

I am not so sure they had nothing to do with it.

But yeah, certainly possible EB was Rivera’s choice. I’m not sure if that makes yesterdays comments better, or worse?

I think that there is a real life Succession-type circus underway in the executive offices involving Rivera and Wright, albeit without the familial component.

If so, Rivera will have a difficult time outplaying Wright. Checkers vs chess. I have no doubts that Wright is much more capable as a professional character assassin. Harris & Co will be better served by picking none instead of one.

I think the hires yesterday are a clear u dictator that they recognize Wright is in over his head and isn’t experienced enough to handle challenges like having a major role in a new stadium deal.

so wtf has Ron been doing for the last 3 years Jason? If there is one thing I HAVE to give him credit for, it's cleaning up the cesspool that was this team. Again, i don't think there's necessarily any 'malicious' intent here, but the two of these guys simply cannot get out of their own way.

I think Wright knows exactly what he is doing. I can’t say the same for Rivera.

My question is, why is Jason Wright even DOING interviews - he’s the only NFL guy in his role doing so that I’ve seen, and why in the hell is he chiming in and answering football-related questions when he has zero football-related responsibilities? I’m betting he’s been told or will be told to get back on his lane and stay there.

And those comments were the ones I was referencing to Neo. Pretty easy for someone like Rivera to view that as undermining him.

I can't help but think when Ron got that cancer scare it changed everything in him. He just isn't who he once was.

You’re not the first person I’ve heard say that. Quite possible that took a major toll on him. I don’t recall if he had these kinds of issue in Carolina.

ESPN + had an article with some trade proposals. One which involves Chase Young going to Baltimore.

Baltimore gets Chase, Commanders receive 2024 3rd and 5th rounder........I'm trying to take this seriously but I don't think the Ravens would give up a 3rd or anyone else until they see a healed player on the field.

Of course in the same article they have the Jets getting Mike Evans from the Bucs for 2024 4th and 2025 5th.

To be fair… I hope like hell Harris has already analyzed Riveras personnel abilities regardless of what Chase does this year. Chase could make all pro and it shouldn’t be the lynch pin of the decision whether to retain his services or not. It’s been painfully obvious that he struggles in that department. He’s had some good ‘finds’ but his decision making is spotty at best. Not necessary with players but with philosophy
