I talked to a guy at work who is from Bethesda. He has met Taylor and he laughed about the 6'1" listing. He himself is 6'1" and he said Taylor was 5'10" tops.

After seeing a couple of photos of Taylor standing next to Wentz on the field, I believe him.

I talked to a guy who works at Walter Reed and he said your friend is full of it!

I don't think it's unfair at all to demand your measurement be taken while you are standing on top of your center's shoulders. With this in mind, I am easily over 11 feet tall. Heinicke standing on his shoulder pads is uninventive.

Makes me think it'd be fun to be the Howling Commanders and our mascot be more of a dog or wolf.

I love the Hogs, but choosing a hog as our identity is just one more attempt to have our cake and eat it, too. If we're the Commanders then we're not the Redskins. The Redskins were the Hogs and the Fun Bunch and the Posse. We ought to find something that fits with Commanders. I guess that's why they put Major in front of Tuddy. Frankly, there are other animals or figures that fit the commander motif a lot better than a pot bellied pig... errrr hog.

Today’s WaPo article by Sam Fortier cites 11 players who spoke off-the-record about their frustrations with Scott Turner’s play calling.

’Yet blame is complex. Quarterback play has been subpar, and the personnel department, ultimately helmed by Coach Ron Rivera, built a line with glaring deficiencies. The offense often fought uphill — it had the league’s worst average starting field position — and struggled to sustain drives, hit explosive plays and finish in the red zone.’

I agree it sounds like Turner may be out. I don't see how they bring in an outside coordinator due to the reason you point out Chris. Wonder what the odds are of both Rivera and Turner leaving and maybe they give Jack Del Rio the reigns for a season as a placeholder? He'd probably be glad to do it as might give him a chance to boost his chances to be a HC somewhere again. Would solve several issues. Fanbase doesn't want Rivera OR Turner back, Rivera can't get rid of Turner and likely find a quality replacement, unless he promotes someone internally.

When you piece together the information of 11 players who expressed frustration towards Turner with the uninspired/flat play from last week vs. Cleveland, it really does start to come together and feel like we have a team that is showing the first signs of losing confidence in Rivera to an extent. If Ron is indeed back next year, it really does feel like a season where things get potentially get ugly if we get off to one of those slow starts again.

I hope I am wrong, because we have a lot of talented players here that I want to see get rewarded, but at the end of the day, #crumbleforcaleb might not be a bad thing either.

I kind of read this differently. Rather than come out and take shots at the coaching staff in general, or specifically Ron Rivera, it does seem like the players are focused on Scott Turner and his playcalling in particular.
I get the feeling that the players actually still love playing for Ron, but from the interviews they know the problem is on offense, and while some of it is on the players and especially the QB position (I really don't think they're blind to the fact that they don't have an elite or even middle tier option under center) and they're seeing the same issues with the playcalling that we've been flagging up all season. I think they'd be happy sticking with Ron as long as Scott is gone.

I wonder if we have a candidate within. Is Zampese Jr. worth a shot? In some respects, I'd prefer giving a young hot shot than a retread who can't get another gig and so will settle for a 1 year contract with Rivera.

Then again, I really don't know if Zampese is either young or a hot shot offensive mind.

Agree. The line has played much better since he got here. Not sure if it has yet lived up to its rep, but it is much improved.

If Snyder sells ‘he’ isn’t responsible for paying anyone. If a new owner is in place soon, they may work out an exit for Rivera. Not saying it’s likely just possible.

Let’s say Snyder wants Rivera gone now. Not knowing the details of his contract except for what was reported at the time of his hiring (5 yrs, 7m per, fully guaranteed) I am assuming that he is due the remaining portion immediately upon his firing.

There would have to be a replacement hired in pretty short order, as well, unless Snyder is going to leave things in limbo until the sale is finalized or in the event that any new owner is involved and comfortable making the changes personally prior to league approval.

I guess there is a chance of that but I’d call it a fat chance. Color me skeptical that Rivera is fired.

I agree. Snyder is not going to make any major moves on the way out. That would likely be part of the conversation with a prospective owner. And he has no reason to. Although I'd like to believe a new owner is weeks away, probably not likely. I think the scenario I could see is Rivera not wanting to have to can Turner, and just deciding he's had enough. In that scenario I assume the Marty's would probably work out some kind of a deal. Snyder isn't going to care about paying a HC off because of what he's about to make in a prospective sale. And if he IS worried about it, it can be factored into the sale price.

Sounds like he might want to take a break. He's under contract to LA for like 4 more seasons so the cost to coax him back to DC would probably be eye-popping.
