Look - Wentz was awful but everyone's glossing over the fact that we gave up 3 straight TD drives in the 2nd half of a must win game (after getting to sit and watch the Browns D on the field for almost an entire 2nd quarter) The entire squad was awful on Sunday. And they couldn't beat a mediocre Giants team given two chances to do it - with 'difference making' TH getting every snap. Blame it on whatever you want - we aren't good. The coaches are awful. Wentz sucks. TH is mediocre at best. The only good (not great) position groups on this roster are our WRs, DL, and kickers. That's it.

Btw - for the record, I would definitely sign TH to another contract. We need a true starter but as a backup and just generally amazing teammate, can't do much better than him. I don't have any idea whether he's interested in that kind of deal, or if there are NFL teams who think he can be a starter. And it may not matter - if HE thinks he can be a starter somewhere.

The trouble for Ron unlike Marty with Jeff George is that Wentz came here on his watch and failed to establish any credibility with his teammates.

This is Ron’s fault as it came on the heels of another desperate move in 2021 to bring in 39 year old Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Right now it’s a collection of 30 year old waiver wire players.

See, this is the problem when there is no check on power.

A team that is eliminated from playoff contention and hasn’t finished over .500 in the last 3 years that HAS a functioning GM will exert enough influence to start seeing what we have in the cupboard.

The potential bias of Rivera towards guys he committed to in the past should not be a factor.

Good GMs don’t just allow their teams to continue starting 30 year old players that are clearly not the future.

The only coaches that should get close to veto power are the Belichicks and Reids that have won for the team at a high level and are on board securely for the long term.

Hopefully the next ownership group gets the balance of power dynamics and need for someone to throw down the brake when the team is floundering.
