Random Commanders Thoughts

Cosmi's ups and downs in camp to me are not a worry whatsoever. First and foremost, he is a rookie lining up against two of the stronger rushers in the league every day in practice. Secondly, and more importantly in my mind, the guy oozes with high character and passion for the game. Long term, that is a recipe for sustained success at the pro level. I think he will be a good one for us for years to come.

That was before they put the pads on. He apparently has been holding his own since - at least that’s what the word is…

So he’s looking better today? I thought Young & Sweat were straight declaring Prima Nocta on him
not even close to what I've read. He's been holding his own against them both.

Heads up for those of you who listen to Sirius NFL Radio: Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller will be doing their camp tour stop there from 4-6pm tomorrow afternoon.

it was a couple tidbits like these in the article. Doesn’t matter how he started off, as long he’s starting to kick ass now tho it’s all good. We haven’t had a legit RT since Jansen

If we are to buy that, not good news for Kelvin Harmon or Jaret Patterson.

I always felt that both of those guys were long shots this season, though.

Harmon had a very strong 2nd half of 2019 - but to be fair, we didn't have shit behind McLaurin (not even a capable TE) - and RIvera and company aren't invested in him. I'm not surprised that Patterson is behind all the vets (again, assuming this is in the ballpark of reality). He should be. But that would track to make him a practice squader at best, when some had him as a backup. Then again, I'm taking any depth chart right now with a giant grain of salt.

Especially one that's written by the Washingtonfootball.com writers...

Here’s one guys prediction on the final 53. No shockers and pretty fair take other than his wr group. There’s no f’n way Harmon loses out to not one but BOTH of the Simm’s imo though.

I’ve heard good things all camp about S. Sims from most, if not all, of the beat writers.

I have not heard one single mention of Lamar Miller. I didn’t realize he was still on the team until the team released the first depth chart. Weird.

I know it’s early in the preseason still but it appears the offense sucks at the moment.

They definitely looked sloppy. Very out of sync and just not in a rhythm. The preseason has become less and less relevant over the past several years, but with only 3 games it's even more irrelevant. Hopefully they can get into rhythm in practice before the season starts, but we won't see it until they hit the field week 1.

Unless the team keeps 4 rb’s Barber is in deep trouble. I’m guessing if the team knew what they were going to have in Patterson they wouldn’t have directed Barber to slim down.

Barber has never flashed. He’s simply been a situational hammer. Now he’s a smaller hammer.
