They are a different kind of immature. This is just Leaf trying to make himself relevant. As far as I know, Haskins doesn’t have anger problems or substance abuse problems. Everyone wants to get their shots in on Haskins now, and deservedly so. He’s earned all the criticism he is getting. The sooner he is off this team, the better.

Ryan Leaf is speaking the truth here. He didn't mention the substance or anger issues.

All of that is true. In most of these athletes who end up having issues.

Haskins is better than Montez or the other options but my guess is for Washington to win the defense will have to score and set up short fields.

The ONLY win Haskins has this year is when the defense had 8 sacks and terrorized the Eagles in the opener.

He still has not LEAD us to a victory.

And evidently 10 weeks on the pine hasn’t resulted in Haskins showing any better mechanics or field awareness.

I have another friend in Colorado (wifes friend) who sent me a picture and said "do you want this?" its an old school yellow helmet with an R on it...and an autograph. I couldn't read it, so I asked her who it was.

Chris Hanburger. She is mailing it to me in exchange for cookies LOL. Cookies for a helmet.

Very cool on both fronts. I had a bunch of autographed helmets at one point (think maybe some of them were originally from DieselPwr44 ?) but have given them away as Pickem prizes over the years. Still have a few autographed pics including one of ‘The Mouse’

Getting the helmet makes me think of the time my wife got me an autographed helmet for Christmas one year. She was SO excited for me to open it, and it was.....Jason Taylor. She said "isn't that the safety who passed away that you love?". Bless her heart for that. We had only been together for 9 months so there was just such an innocence to the mistake. When she found out who Jason Taylor was, she got pissed and returned it LOL

Smith most likely not starting.

Gibson and Holcomb are more likely to start.

Gibson will give Haskins a legitimate threat in the run game which should help.

His combination of size and speed is something defenses don't face every week. You could see the fear in the Dallas D when Gibson got the ball in space, he's shifty and hard to tackle.

Regardless of the outcome of these last two games (who could anticipate Allen's season-ending injury at age 25 and Smith's journey?) with Haskins at the helm it is time to tip the cap to the coaching staff and scouts for some of these player acquisitions.

NFL media was critical of the Gibson pick noting that he was not a full-time runner in college. Washington projected him to the RB position in the NFL and after a few tough early games, he is delivering on that promise.

And there were those of us that thought Logan Thomas was a pathetic attempt to plug a hole at TE. Instead, outside of McLaurin, he has been the most consistent weapon on the field during the 2020 season and his athletic ability at 29 does a lot more for Washington than the 35 year old Greg Olsen would have done for us.

On defense, trading Quinton Dunbar rather than giving in and signing him to a rich extension was the right call. Dunbar has continued to be the oft-injured, inconsistent presence in Seattle he was here for the past couple of years.

Kendall Fuller is a legitimate top half of the league starting corner with playoff experience who is still only 26.

We signed Darby for one season and are not locked into him beyond 2020 which was smart as well.

Washington still needs to find a passer but Chase Young is starting to live up to his billing as a once a decade type rusher who will be the focus of NFL offenses each week we play them.

You need that anchor on defense in the front seven just as you need the stability at QB to win long-term.

If you pair Young with a quality NFL passer over the next year plus you have the foundation for a winner throughout the 2020's.
