Random Commanders Thoughts

Steven SIms needs to stay before AND after practice to learn to catch balls. He has great speed and vision...but, it means nothing if you dont catch it.

Cam Sims just needs to get open. I think being in a starting role is new to him and its showing.

I was driving in the car all afternoon and evening and didn’t get to watch the game. I had it streaming on my phone but could only hear the broadcast. They were mostly babbling during the kneel down but what was going on there? Where there issues with the victory formation? It seemed like there was a delay of game penalty or timeout after every snap. Did that actually happen or was it not really that bad and that was the plan all along.

The 9ers kept trying to push and get to Haskins..

Haskins was taking 3 or 4 steps back to try and waste time

we didn't want to have to punt it away but we ended up with like 9 seconds on the clock on 4th down.

Thanks for clearing that up. Since I had the TV broadcast on, they weren’t doing much actually explaining. And I didn’t want to take my eyes off the road to see what was happening.

So now that the 49ers are checked off the list, I suppose when Alex Smith beats the Chiefs in February he will officially have defeated every team in the NFL.
Maybe next year.

You know, that matchup does give some real Obi-Wan vs Vader fight vibes.

(Except that Alex losing will NOT make him more powerful than anyone can imagine. haha)

He deserves all he gets. He has a cannon for a leg and accurate as hell.

I am shocked though that RG III doesn't have as many player of the week as Cousins.

Weird thing is, Gibson was reportedly AT practice today as was Alex. Assuming they just don’t want to rush Gibson back.

Here’s the craziest blurb from that story:

“Miller will be unable to play this Sunday against Seattle, as he must test negative for COVID-19 six times before the move can be made official.”

6 times??!!!!

What in the hell NFL - we only require 1 negative test to send patient who’s HAD Covid from one unit to another or to a nursing home.If that’s accurate that is utterly insane and stupid.

Neither participated in practice.
Alex watched Haskins take reps with the 1's and Gibson was off to the side with training staff.

Rivera also said he likes ‘the progress’ Gibson has made and ‘where this is going’. That doesn’t sound like a situation that requires us to go bring in another RB, especially one that may not be able to suit up for a couple weeks.

You are more medically qualified than I am but I was under the impression that turf toe isn't something you come back from in a week?

No - you’re right, it can take awhile to heal. It’s not a big deal, it just seems like there’s a little bit of a disconnect between what Rivera is saying and what they are doing. But I’m getting used to that... lol.

Miller is a pretty solid RB to be sitting on a PS (I know he hasn’t seen significant playing time in awhile but still, that might actually have benefitted him.

Miller had nearly 900 yds or more for his past 5 active seasons (2013-2018) and is only 29. That’s a solid pickup for nothing imho.

I like it. Adding options for our playoff run.

if only we had a RB on our team that was durable and known for getting 1000 per season.

But, those are IMPOSSIBLE to find...especially for a decent price ;)
