Nope. What people are saying is that screwing around for ten weeks has lowered Trent's value. To suddenly go “no wait. We DO want to trade him!” literally one day before the deadline greatly decreases our bargaining position and limits our ability to hash out a deal. As with the Cousins situation, the Redskins front office may have again just hemmed and hawed itself out of decent compensation for one of its top players. This isnt random crankiness our part. Its recognizing a pattern of incompetence. Again, hopefully we are pleasantly surprised.

That's what they said. I make no pronouncements on the honesty of the Redskin front office. You can choose to believe they are lying if it makes you feel better.

I think his supposed worth (1st rd pick) is overrated. Almost mythical.

I know Keim and Finlay, two locals critical of not even talking to other teams about trading, now recommend waiting for offseason if they can't get a 1st, now.

I agree with that. Why would I want any malcontents on my team? I would want guys that want to be here.

Bruce's problem is he thinks he's a savvy football executive/team builder when history has proven that assembling Lincoln Logs would be a struggle for him.

Well, we all know the pro bowl is a popularity contest. Doesn't mean making it is irrelevant. Just overrated. It's used as a negotiating tool when players try to get more money. Which is the only "crap" he's after. All the medical BS is him and his agent playing the victim.

That's entirely possible.

Another potential issue is, if the best deal for us, sends Pothead to a team he doesn't want to go to, all he has to do is fail the physical (quite easy I would imagine) and the deal is off. And the deadline passes. Don't put it past him either.

What matters is what other teams think of the guy. He is widely considered one of the best in the game.

I honestly don't care what he did or didn't do at this point. He doesn't want to be here. He needs to go. He should have been gone months ago.

This dithering around ... it's what the team does. It actually has nothing to do with Williams. They did the same thing with Cousins. They waited until just the wrong time to fire Gruden. They are doing it again now. They are doing it with Norman. Probably Kerrigan too. It's like watch a bad QB throw another interception in the end zone.
