Aaron Rodgers has taken teams with similar or even more injuries deep into the playoffs.
 
Caught the tail end of the Gruden presser just now. Sounds like they will waive Mason Foster today due to injury and will be signing someone. Good news just keeps coming.

That totally and completely sucks. I loved Foster.
Why not IR hiim, and at least give him a chance next year, instead of cutting him outright ?
Only reason not to, is if it was very clear the injury was career-threatening.
 
per Redskins web site both Ty Nsekhe & Long are out. Leaves Chase possibly starting. I don't think he looked too bad last week considering that he came in on short notice and got bounced over to RG for a few plays. Needs to keep his head down better at C.
With Foster down that leaves more snaps for Spaight who seems to have played pass Defense pretty well in the past (at least as compared to other Skin LBs). Gruden said they will sign another player to replace Foster on the 53 man roster. Whether that means another LB I'm not sure but they only have 1 on the PS (Pete Robertson).
 
I thought we were already rich at the position.
We still got Spaight, Compton, Anderson, Harvey-Clemons, and Carter.
Do we really need to sign someone else at the position ?
The last 2 names I mentioned might actually just play on the outside, but even so, that still leaves us
with 3 guys with experience at the position, besides Brown.
Maybe instead, we should bring up Harris from PS, and make Pryor inactive on games for now.

Yea we could definitely use another body on the OL.
I hope that's the player they add.
We're so thin, and add in the fact, the Inactive List restricts us so much on how many backups we can keep, that in-game injuries have the major potential to decimate our O-line, and I can actually imagine us pulling someone from DL to play OL within a game.

The other flaw in the argument is that the Redskins should have been prescient enough two or three years ago to sign Kirk to a contract that, at the time, nobody was sure was a smart move. Not the media, not the football people, and certainly not us.

As it turns out, the kid is actually pretty good. Better even than I thought he'd be, and better than I'm guessing just about anyone being honest about it thought he'd turn out to be. If he'd turned out to be the 'turnover machine' so any guaranteed he'd always be, we'd not be looking back at the team's reticence to pony up top market value with criticism--we'd be glad they didn't throw good money after bad (read: RG3).

No, he's not 'elite.' But he's a lot better than anyone had any strong reason to believe he'd be, and by definition, that's going to mean he's going to get market value for a top free agent quarterback. The question now is whether or not he and the team can get on the same page about where they go from here.

It's too easy to look back now and say "they should have known."

The luxury of hindsight needs to be taxed. :)

I know I should be excited about tomorrow. Normally, no matter how good or bad I think a Skins team is - I believe we can beat Dallas. But gotta be honest, struggling to enivision how we reach down and find a way to win this one with all of the injuries. Just seems impossible. That and the unceasing snark, cynicism, and hopelessness of some is starting to wear me down.

I'll watch - but not gonna lie, not particularly excited to watch this one.

I understand perfectly, but yet, I'm excited. Two 3&3 teams.. divisional game, friggin Cowpukes. How do we win this one.... kick em in the stones first defensive play for us. Be brutally aggressive with their receivers. Don't late a single guy get a clean release off the line. Hit every guy as hard as humanly possible every play. It's a fist fight... hit first, hit hard, and keep hittin till somebody stops you.

That sounds great. But my question is, who are these horses that you're calling on to do all this brutal hitting? Could be mostly backups and guys who aren't starters for a reason.

I'm all about attitude but as we saw last week - ultimately you have to have the horses on the field...
 
Should be a fun game - Cousins has shown in the past he can play well in the rain - what about Prescott? Could be wrong but I don't believe Prescott's passing game rivals Kirks on dry days. Worst offensive lineman injury is to Long - we have Roullier who looked more than okay in preseason action. Lots of muddin going on - should be great - Kelly slides for 8 yards!
