Until our defense starts slowing somebody down, we're going to go into every game knowing we need to score and score often.

Seems like it's been that way for a very long time.

Kirk Cousins needs to come out and be crisp and play clean with no turnovers and no hesitancy.

If he continues to play like he is in a fog, this team's season is going to be over very quickly.

The teams that I remember went 0-2 and still made the playoffs include the 1984 Redskins who went 11-5 and the 1993 Cowboys who went 13-3 after Emmitt Smith held out for two weeks at 0-2.

The 2016 Redskins are not even close to these other teams in terms of talent, coaching or experience.

So, the odds are already long.

Add the 2007 Giants to your list, they won it all from the wild card position beating the undefeated Pats after their 0-2 start... and yes they got the ball rolling with their first win against the Skins.

As much of a mess as things are here I still don't see us losing to Cleveland. They're a full on dumpster fire with 2 QB's gone for the season to injury.

The Browns are not to be taken lightly. They nearly beat the Ravens, and started with a 20-0 lead. The fact that they've had 2 QB injuries, is merely a statistic, and not a direct reflection of how the whole team will play, from here out. So it would be premature to assume that this guy is going to suck, and the whole team will suck, just based on the fact he's a 3rd stringer. No-one knows what Kessler is capable of yet. Against our defense, he may very well look like Tom Brady.

Dak had the best OL on the league working for him....run support, pass pro....the Browns OL may not be quite so helpful.

Watching Texans vs Pats...

Pats are missing Olinemen and let's face it, no one thinks the Pats' line is anything to write home about..

Down to their 3rd string QB to boot...

And they are lining up and running it down JJ Watt and the Texans throat.

Someone tell me again how this is a passing league and the run game's just not as important anymore?

Thing is....I honestly believe we are capable of doing the same thing if our HC and OC had any discipline in their coaching and play calling.

I think our Oline is more talented than that of the Pats and the committee of Jones,Kelly and Thompson, if used properly, could get the job done.

Would take pressure off of Cousins

Increase our TOP and help our defense out.

It's just a shame that we ask our Olinemen to "catch" the opposing team instead of allowing them to tee off on the defense and set a tone and develop some swagger.

Not so sure about that. Skins had sacks and plenty of near sacks. One was taken away via bogus penalty. Tons of holding too. That might be their secret. Their running game hasn't been anything to write home about either. Me and my crew busted out laughing when the commentator said Elliot "reminds me of Ladainian Tomlinson". Really? Let's talk about that if he even gets near half the TDs Tomlinson had during his record setting season.

True, the Redskins defense has been in bend don't break mode for the past 10 years.

Since Greg Williams' next to last year in Washington the Redskins defense has not been a strength for this team.

Which going back to previous discussions on other threads makes one wonder why the current management hasn't taken the holes on the DL more seriously in the draft and free agency.

Our top DL pick this time was in the FIFTH round after taking no one of note in 2015.

Our top free agent pick, Stephen Paea, signed to a $21M contract was cut after just one middling season.

Dumbest call of the game not burning your timeout and giving yourself 3 shots at the endzone.

But then Cousins gets sacked and we don't even get 3 so maybe Gruden is just like the guy trying to manage the kids on the short bus.
