Random Commanders Thoughts

Jordan Reed should be Plans A, B, C, and D for the #Redskins in the red-zone.

You mean we shouldn't just keep trying a fade?

I was screaming at the TV by the end. At that point, the only surprise left was - to the left or to the right?

The HC needs to be respected, not required to be the players buddy. His main objective is to win games. If he want's friends then get a Facebook account.

By the way...yes, I am still very pissed.

You guys are setting up a straw man and beating it. Where is the information that Gruden is soft on players coming from? I'm not buying it.

For the optimists amongst us..... 2007 comes to mind

A team in disarray, 0-2, coach is 'getting fired', next game a rival should handily beat them to go 0-3

Something changed, they win against their rival and go on to beat the best team in football in the final game.

Our turn? :uncomfortableness:

It seems like every year that we make the playoffs, we start off slow in the beginning of the season.
And it seems like the years that rush out of the gates fast, then the team falls apart at the end of the season.

My sister, in an effort to cheer me up and get me laughing, said our new slogan should be, "Make The Skins Great Again". :)

Reminds me of a thought I had, for the fans to voice their disapproval.
During the next home game, have as many fans as possible in the stadium, repeatedly engage in the chant...

RUN.
THE.
BALL !

Same place the information is that he's not?

I'd like to see him yell at someone on occasion. Allah knows there are more than enough players ****in up to warrant it.

Or, as I've suggested, seriously I might add, that all starters (except field goal and punt cover teams) be benched next week. And they should all have to run scout team this week at practice. I'd rather see us push back against the CBA Wussy practice restrictions, instead of embracing and enhancing them.

It is truly amazing to me how ridiculous it is we are here. I must still be in shock or something. I'm numb. I can't even get mad about it. If I'm mad at anyone, it's me. Because I know better. I'm a Redskins fan & this is old hat. Nothing different, nothing new (other than the names people are pointing fingers at). Based on my lifetime experience of watching the Redskins & other football, based on the knowledge & wisdom (or lack thereof) of the game that I have attained throughout the years, what my eyes & senses are telling me is that this is more on the coaches than the players. 3 attempts at the same passing play from the 2 yard line is not a QB decision. And if it is, it still goes back to the coach because the QB shouldn't be making a boneheaded decision like that. So, regardless, that's on Gruden.

That said, Cousins shoulders a portion of the blame, but then so does a number of other players/plays/plays called. I honestly don't know what I watched yesterday. What I mean is, they look like they had no idea this was a real game. They appeared lost to me. More like a group of individuals who are wearing the same uniform rather than a team. It was disheartening.

I was looking for the actual quote but couldn't find it. Read that Gruden called out Cousins directly at halftime to Pam Oliver, said "you know what we need, we need to get something out of the quarterback."

Jay is in a bad spot, has to call him out but has to coddle him as well. Not me, I tell him to sh.t or get off the pot, stop playing with ass pucker and quit guiding the ball into the dirt. Stay after practice and throw until you can learn how to connect a long ball. He's also lacks confidence now, a trait that kills QBs.

It's just amazing to me that teams like New England can win a game without their starting qb, starting RB, starting TE, both starting offensive tackles, etc.

Meanwhile, the Redskins can't seem to wean consistent performances even from our regular starters.

It's starts from the top. As Josh Norman said when he came here, 'you can say things here in public in ways that would get you in trouble in Carolina'.

Maybe the coaching staff has created too comfortable a landing spot for players.

People here don't seem to be on edge that their jobs are on the line.

Well, according to the commentators I was forced to listen to, it was leaked by Josh Norman that Cousins & Jackson have been staying after practice every day getting into a rhythm. Maybe Gruden should start staying after practice getting into a rhythm calling plays.

That's what the Redskins need. The latest technology in helping coaches making the right plays. A simulator. Make it like a holodeck & put in all the numbers & info for the players of the opponent coming up & then practice calling plays under multiple scenarios (like, 1st & Goal on the 2 yard line fade route kind of plays...) to hone the skills of "lesser" coaches.

This team doesn't have enough talent on it to be a true Super Bowl contender, but I get the feeling that if we replaced Gruden with a younger Bill Parcells this team's effort and performance would improve 50%.

The Redskins are playing as if they need someone to yell in their collective ears.
