Definitely, also now have lost three straight opening games. Steelers are legit contender, we be pretender. So that's not news.

Its how you lost the fight, not the loss itself. Dallas week, that's all the matters anyway.

However, lose to Dallas next week, and you can start the "Dead Man Walking" thread for Gruden.

I don't care what happens. Lose to them, with a rookie 2nd string QB, at home, in year 3 of being head coach? Don't let the door hit you in the fat ass on your way out.

Well, rightly or wrongly, if we DO lose at home to Dallas next week, absolutely the drum beat in the hills will start will start growing louder.

Team looked fragile to me last night. Started strong enough, moving well and throwing effective jabs, but after taking a couple gut punches their knees started to buckle ... and they just never seemed to quite have the spark to come off the ropes and fight back.

They'll need to land a couple right crosses themselves next week, and then NOT dance and wait for the bell, but close the damn deal. They do that, and we're right back where we were before the game last night--thinking we're on the right track and 2016 could see us playing for real in January. They don't, and head up to NY at 0-2, reeling and questioning everything?

That would be bad.
 
Yeah. I really hesitate to call any game 2 of the season a must-win, but if we have aspirations beyond sucking, we need a good showing against the girls.

Last night's game was eerily similar to the game immediately prior to that, against the Packers.
Both were similarly talented playoffs teams, with a top-teir QB.
Both games, we jumped ahead with a couple field goals.
Both games, the other team then score multiple unanswered TD's
Look at both scores : 38-16, and 35-18.
Both games Cousins threw for EXACTLY 329 yards. Both games, EXACTLY 14 first downs from passing.
Both games, Reed led receivers in catches.
Both games, we rushed for under 90 yards.
 
The same guy who didn't fire Mike Nolan until after several years of ineptitude is going to fire Jay Gruden after 2 craptacular games?

On the bright side I read we are one of two teams not wearing the awful "mono" uniforms this year since our Thursday game is on Thanksgiving - THANK YOU FOR ALL THINGS SACRED !!!!
 
It's mind boggling to think how single individual plays that we fail to capitalize on as a team so often have the ability to determine the outcome of games for this franchise.

The examples are endless, but we need to look no further than our two most recent real games. You think back to the Packer playoff game where Desean fails to put the ball past the goal line. It ultimately leads to a field goal and takes the wind out of our sails so to speak...a missed opportunity to take full control of the ball game and a momentum builder for the Packers at a time when they were reeling.

You look at last night vs. Pittsburgh. Sure, we aren't converting for TDs, but we've got a 6-0 lead and a golden opportunity to recover a fumble very deep in Steeler territory. Instead, Kerrigan tries running with the ball instead of falling on it and it lands back in the lap of the black and gold. A few plays later, the Steelers are rolling into our endzone for a TD. Game, set, match...the writing was on the wall right there for anybody who has watched this team long enough (as much as any of us wanted to deny it at that juncture in the game). A GREAT opportunity to go up 13-0, at the very least 9-0, ends up being a huge point swing at 7-6 Pittsburgh and we never recovered.

Too often, individual plays cripple this team. I think it ultimately comes down to fragility. Mentally, this team is way too often a piece of glass and that needs to be corrected.

We saw signs of getting out of that rut a year ago during the second half of the season. But the last two contests of meaning have led to the return of old bad habits in this regard. It's concerning considering that talent-wise, we aren't where we need to be yet to make up for these kinds of deficiencies.
 
I sure hope so.

Ioannidis was a mild bust and I think it is pretty obvious to everyone now that Kedric Golston and guys like Kendall Reyes are not starter material.

Even at 35 Jenkins is a major upgrade over some of these guys.
 
Gruden, Barry, Scott, Kirk...the brain trust ain't looking so hot after that beat down. If the Skins reciprocate a similar beat down against Dallas, much will be forgiven...at least for a week.

Dallas tops the list at 4.2 Billion
New England at 3.4
The friggin Gnats at 3 for 3.1 Billion
The 49ers at 3 Billion
We round out the top 5 at 2.95 Billion

Take away Jerruh World, Levi Stadium, and Gillette stadiums and those teams aren't worth what we are.

Crazy that the NFCE has 3 of the top 5.
 
I don't know how everyone else feels because I haven't really rounded the site tonight, but I have to say this:

I have been a die hard Redskins fan my entire life. My mother made me this way & I've never ever questioned it, regretted it or fought it. I LOVE my Redskins. Always have, always will. The only other area in my life that is nearly as long lived & I am just as passionate about is my faith in Christ.

With that said, I can't remember a time in my life that the Redskins were a decent team on MNF. I remember Joey T. looking like a scrub on MNF AND it was a MNF game against the Giants when his leg was broken by LT (although, oddly enough, we won that game). We are notoriously bad on MNF.

Now, as I stated, I've been a Redskins fan all my life. It doesn't matter to me whose name is on the back of the jersey because the important name is on the front. But I have read 1 comment after another of fellow Skins fans already calling for Colt McCoy to start & I gotta tell ya, this is pretty upsetting to me (this was mainly on Facebook. Like I said, I haven't really looked around here tonight). Not because I'm such a huge Kirk Cousins fan, but because when I look at successful teams, they don't have a revolving door at the QB position like have had. So, when I read comments about how people think McCoy (who, on most other teams would be a 3rd stringer) is a better QB because of 1 win in Dallas as if 1 game makes a career. But...as far as I'm concerned, Cousins is the best QB on our roster. No, he is not perfect & will make plenty of mistakes, but I do not believe in changing QBs every time an INT is thrown or he holds the ball too long & takes a sack or, heck, actually loses a game for us.

So, maybe I'm in the minority with this & if so, so be it, but I openly & willingly still support Captain Kirk. If for no other reason then to simply see us act like a successful football team that doesn't change QBs because he has a bad game. Especially when we are in the process of trying to develop that QB into the QB we want/need him to be.

Seriously, what the hell? What is it about this team that makes it stink SO bad on MNF?

The good news is that we are not that bad the rest of the time, so hopefully our performance on Monday night was just a Monday Night Thing, and not something to expect the rest of the season. Hopefully.
