On the subject of injuries, Gruden ended the statement with "Looks like it'll be okay".
At first I thought he was talking about the whole injury picture, and took that to mean, that the whole team came out of the game with nothing to worry about.
Then I started to wonder if he was just talking about the last player he mentioned - Dunbar,
 
If anyone is still interested, it appears that Pot Roast is getting cut from NE.
 
Redskins are cutting former Texans linebacker Willie Jefferson, according to a source.
 
Hopefully to make room for Stork, but could be the first of several today.
 
Regarding Potroast I vote for bringing him back, but only for vet minimum, maybe a little higher. After being released twice in the same offseason he may play with some attitude.

Well, looks like the rookie Dak Prescott will be thrown to the wolves. I hate to say, the kid looks like he could be good.
 
He hasn't even been in live regular season action yet. Big difference. We'll see how good he looks with big uglies bearing down on him at full speed :)

I know, but he did what he did against 1st teamers a couple weeks ago. I know it's pre-season, but those evils bastards could be so lucky to watch Romo retire from injury to have Prescott come in and haunt us for years. **** Dallass!

Sure, maybe the kid's the 2nd coming. But we've seen a gazillion QBs look like the next HOFer for a game or two and then implode. The odds this kid is 'the answer' are astronomically low. I wonder if the Cowboys don't make a play for an experienced vet (Mark Sanchez comes to mind)?
 
Dak is the real deal, watched him a lot last year and when he beat Alabama. He's cool and calm under pressure, but you can bet the book is to blitz him and destroy that confidence. But let's tap the breaks on the QB talk and lick our chops cause Romo is out indefinitely. Look at the history and the dam cowpukes always seem to beat us with spare QB's nobody heard of. so that alone makes me worry. Never seems to work for us when their starter goes down. And, I'm more worried about what Morris can do for them. They love him and he hasn't lost anything behind that line. makes me sick.
 
I actually did see some good things last night... the cheerleaders :) Seriously though, the secondary looked to be pretty stout with Morgan and Breeland, which I expected. They took Sammy out of the equasion, and he's no slouch. Morgan will surely elevate Breeland's play due to Breeland's extremely competitive nature. That's a good thing as he'll likely be targeted a bunch with Morgan on the field. Kelly did a good job ruining the ball. Not spectacular, but more then adequate in my opinion. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it was just rust in the first quarter with the offense. Cousins did hold the ball a bit too long on some plays, and paid for it. We need a center..... and hopefully Stork will displace Litch at some point.
 
I've seen enough. Going into the season I'm looking at and focused on two things on offense and two things on defense.

On offense I'm looking at the play of the WR's and I'm looking at the running game out of the passing formation. We should not be running on first down IMHO. That is a waste of a play, we must use the pass to set up the run, but don't show it, run out of the passing formation. As for the WR's I'm looking at red zone play. Pass play calling in the red zone is the key for getting our pts/gm to 26-29 pts as it must be in this range to be successful.

On defense, I'm looking at the play of the secondary and the play of the linebackers. Were going to have to get a pass rush from the lb's and they must also stop the run as our d line isn't going to be counted on game in game out. The secondary play is critical as 60% of offensive plays were passes last year for all teams combined. Plus, tight coverage is the only way to apply pass rush pressure and sacks. I'm not so worried about defensive scoring i.e. pts allowed, as I think we can overcome that with a strong scoring offense.
