It wasn't too difficult to see that Spencer Long and Austin Reiter were not going to go on to be NFL centers for the Redskins and Kory Lichtensteiger, 31, is physically beat up after 8 years playing undersized in the NFL on the line.

Stork is a bit of a gamble, but then again the chance to get a potential starter who is 25 years old for a conditional #7 pick is definitely worth it.
 
So nice to have a competent GM.

Cerrato would've offered a 2nd round pick for Stork.
 
My impression talking to a few people who would know: Bryan Stork was rattled by trade, emotional. Retirement talk not about injury history.

Big deal. It's the preseason. We have lots of roster space.

We just spent one dollar on a lottery ticket and you are complaining that this means we have a serious gambling problem.

NFL offenses ran with three-or-more-wide-receiver sets on 60 percent of all offensive snaps in 2015, per Football Outsiders, which is a full 11 percentage points higher than the 2011 figure. As teams spread out with three- and four-receiver sets, it’s nearly impossible to defend against offenses with “base” personnel. Hell, it doesn’t even matter if teams are running three- and four-wide-receiver sets. These days, with skill-position players becoming more versatile — tight ends that run like receivers, running backs that can run and catch — downhill linebackers and hard-hitting “box” safeties are vulnerable on every snap, even against traditional offensive formations.

I know it's preseason with minimal to no game planning and all but what about the defense? Is the Buffalo offense inept or do we possibly have something resembling a defense?
 
Oh and Mack Brown for the #2? Dude is churning out some yards....did Gruden go to the bathroom in the 3rd?

That first quarter was a little rough on offense, but then we started to roll.

The defense looks like we are one player away from making a SB run.
 
I'm very concerned about the injuries last night. Just with Moses and Kerrigan alone - if those prove to be serious or chronic injuries - that is a devastating blow to this team.
 
This was a horrible game for us. The injuries alone makes it a bad night. The fact that the Bills rested their entire starting defense and it still took until the second quarter before the starting offense produced anything is worrisome. Im hoping it was just rust, and I assume guys like Reed and Garcon wont drop the ball like that in real games, but I saw little to be encouraged about last night.

I didn't get to watch until almost the end of the 2nd half so can't speak to how we looked. Preseason means next to nothing though - and it works both ways. We won't know where we are until live bullets fly, that's always been my take. As far as the injuries, sounds like from Gruden's comments that they'll do MRIs on Kerrigan, Moses, and Jackson. How bad this game was for us will depend on those results.
 
Yes, Im far more concerned with our injuries than how we looked. Preseason performance doesnt mean much, and like I said, hopefully we were just shaking off some rust.

Good news is, we will rest starters from here on out I'm betting. Gruden's already said Cousins is done with preseason work. Hopefully we rest almost all the key starters.
 
None of the injuries sound too serious. The only one I'd be concerned with at all is Kerrigan.
