Easy to say with the limited amount of info we have...we'll never know exactly what happened behind the scenes. I still think it was an affront to the front office more than a stab at Griffin, more than likely some of both.

You're absolutely right. We'll never know. We can only go by what we think we see. I see a guy who initially lacked the backbone to stand up and exercise his will. Even though he had the authority to do so. Scot came along, and Jay grew a set. Early results are positive. Time will tell.

For my money, Gruden is the bravest coach in the league. What he did with Snyder and Cousins was incredible.

Might be wrong but didn't realize Cooley was in any of the rooms with Gruden as HC.

Gruden hasn't won a playoff game. I hope Cooley wasn't comparing THAT to a coach who won three SBs with three different QBs and RBs.

Saying there are personality traits or aspects that are similar between the two men is fine.

I've thought that for the last twelve years or so.

Aside from NFL HC records so far, both have a lot in common.

Demeanor, approach, background, beliefs......etc. Prior coordinator results. They even stand similarly on the sidelines.

Hopefully it translates to several SBs like Gibbs.

Not sure exactly what Cooley meant other than the ability to relate to the players in a positive fashion.

As far as publically 'outing' a player, I don't recall Gibbs doing that either, he just did it with the bench, sometimes inexplicably to the fan base.

As far as the public politics and 'genius' aspect attributed to Gibbs, Gruden still has yet to establish his legacy but outwardly at least, the players seem to like playing for him.

Oui. If you choose the Advanced option for creating a post, you get the option to attach any of the following file types:

Valid file extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg mp3 pdf png psd txt wav zip

For now only the only audio formats are mp3 and wav, but I'll look into what's involved in adding others ...
