Random Commanders Thoughts

I thought it was lame. You're a billion dollar business, make enough rally towels so every swinging **** gets one. We entered the stadium an hour before kickoff. Not a big deal, but had we won I'd have liked to have had one.

You know they get a bulk discount deal for them, too. its not like you're getting some egyptian cotton towel that was hand made by children of the Himalayas.

More like made by a six year-old who jumped off the roof at Foxconn.

That's some high praise from you Al. :) I think it's probably a bit more collaborative than that. I expect the biggest influence McL will have on the filed, aside from talent acquisition, is a bruising running game. But this is as it should be. The GM should set the vision and get the coach to do it and the players to do it with. If McL thinks Gruden can get it done that way, it will be good for all. If not, friction will build and McL will have to get his guy. I think Grudens shown a willingness for growth and it's gonna come. He seemed to identify and compensate for weak areas this year, and there's not reason to think he won't evaluate and do the same again. Gonna be fun as we get more talent.

steve....the post was based on my perspective that McL has already built championship teams, has been at the business of building championship teams (in the NFL) a lot longer than has Gruden....and...while you are correct to point out that there is likely a bidirectional conversation between the two (one hopes anyway)....there is no doubt in my retired military mind who holds the long-run cards and who is building this team.

Factory: caught my attention right off the bat....where did you come up with that callsign?

I'm in a pinball league in NYC and one of the teams uses that name. I thought it was funny...and thought it was especially apropos as a Redskins fan. Fingers crossed that things are changing though...

CSN had a similar video of McCloughan hugging Chris Baker who was also distraught. It really is a great sign to see him down there celebrating when they win and consoling guys when they lose.

I agree 100% and that's the way I think a football operation should be run, for what it's worth. My expectation of a head coach is to coach. Lead the troops, that sort of thing. My total preference is a HC with an OC and a DC. I just think the game today is so complex and there are so many moving parts, a coach needs to be a good manager and fluid around the team. Not tied to one side of the team during the week. Every one needs a good mentor. Gruden could do far worse than McL in that regard.

yeah, because he was getting blinding headaches.

he missed 1 game this year.

but his stats pretty much line up the same as they did in 2012. we know what we are getting with him and hes doing what hes paid to do as a NT. also, nobody gets a mega-extension any more with the Redskins. The days of Haynesworthless are long past.

while he is the best we have he would have been more effective in hazletts 2 gap system instead of the 1 gap we are playing right now

The division may not see as many familiar faces as we were thinking. From a few minutes ago.

Tom Coughlin is withdrawing his name from consideration for Eagles HC job, per sources. Not the right fit.

One of the lead offseason stories just became Can Chip Kelly Save Colin Keapernikus?

You never know. Chip may have figured out that he doesn't know shit about personnel. Wouldn't count on his failure, he learned anything from last time around.

The game experience at FedEx is pretty poor.

And getting in and out of the stadium is the worst since I had to drive over the Landover to watch the Caps and Bullets back in the day.

Although it does feel better after winning :D
