Random Commanders Thoughts

Good season for my beloved Redskins! No one expected us to go this far in what was to be a rebuilding year. Got a great foundation and the best GM in the division.

Found our Franchise QB in Kirk and guess what? He gets the whole offseason,OTA's etc. as the unquestioned starter.

Scotty will do his thing and bolster this roster and we'll take another step up the ladder.

Bright future and better days are ahead!

It was a good season and the building will continue.

BBQ will have game grades early this week, then season grades a few days later. Then the offseason edition of BBQ with first looks at FA, then the draft. After that, it will be on hiatus until early March.

Can't wait to get the view of the guys/gals who attended the game. The down field views shows receivers covered up and not getting good separation.

That was true sometimes. But other times there were guys open and Cousins didn't have time, didn't throw to the right guy, or was off target. I was in 105 which is near the tunnels, so I had a better view on plays going that way. There were a few times he had guys open. Cousins for some reason today liked to throw to the guys who had two defenders around them. He completed some of those passes and Reed made that one amazing catch in a situation like that. But he seemed to try to make some tough throws. Certainly not his best game, but lots of blame to go around.

One thing I can say about what I saw at the game before I head off to bed, they applied pressure on us and Kirk did not have time to allow things to develop, or he was too quick with the throw when he actually did have to let the play develop. Dom Capers did a masterful job of mixing it up enough to keep Cousins completely off balance.

I see in some are already saying we will have a rough time next season since playing first place schedule.

Completely meaningless, imo. First of all, there is a lot that will happen between now and then to us and other teams that may dictate how scary that schedule actually ends up being.

We need to solve the problem we have of folding in big games, and beat whoever is on our schedule. Focus on what we can control, not what we can't.

Bummer way to end the season.

BUT, in the first year of GMSM's rebuild - winning the Division - not too shabby. He'll continue to improve the roster. I think we are still in the upswing overall and can run this division.

HAIL!!

The people saying that don't pay attention to the new scheduling. And by new I mean for the last 17 years. That means a 2 game difference in schedule between the Redskins and last place Dallas. Big deal. You know what, if the Redskins beat Dallas twice, there is your two game difference.

I hope the whole "You Like That" thing is dead and over.

Never liked it from the beginning. Beyond cheesy.

But, I didn't say anything because I apparently make Angels cry when I'm critical.

Aw come on Ax, it came about as a spontaneous reaction by Kirk after a pretty good game by the kid, in today's media (regular and social) crap like this happens.

Just like the Griffining thing of 2012.

It was a reaction to actual events on the football field (or shortly thereafter) not some fabricated marketing blurb put out there.

Yeah, it did become a marketing blurb but it was also a battle cry of sorts, which almost every event of human endeavor seems to need.

The best thing about it was that it's was amorphous and could be used by and for anyone.

Save the Bay!
Remember the Maine!
Go Green!
Gluten Free!
Shit Happens!
Recycle me and keep the environment free!
Build it and they will come!
Peace!
Git 'er Done!
Defense!!!
HTTR!

and the like, that's what we do..... Don't Like That?..... don't do it, no one will think anything less for it.

Most likely 'You Like That' will fade, like they always do, hopefully there will be another rally cry next year that has as much meaning.

Am I crying yet ? :)

If the team can afford a slot for a qb coach then they sure as hell can get a tackling coach. We seem to miss more than any team out there.

Singletary, London, doesn't matter that shit needs squared up.

saw the stat that we haven't beaten a team with a winning record and it made sense. As soon as Desean decided not to lower a shoulder and push his way in I knew we were in trouble. Those goal line calls were some of the worst we have had all season. I could just feel the wind leave our sails after that and watch that dopey eyed prick Rodgers light up.

Clay Matthews is a bum. **** him and his lame trash talk. I seriously hope they get put out next week so I can troll him and Randall Cobb HARD.

Morris looked good yesterday. You could see he was getting hit a lot of the times in the backfield but when he got a head of steam going he hit the holes nice.

Why did we wait until the end of the 4th quarter to finally run a screen play? I swear to Christ we haven't ran that play that actually works VERY WELL barely any since that big one against NO. That is just ridiculous.

Reed is a stud. he played the entire season and showed he is durable.

Garcon and Jackson need to either rework their contracts or they need to be moved. They are too overpriced for the lack of production we are getting from them.

once we get Niles back we could have a major TE threat that nobody will be able to answer.

Cousins does not deserve a top tier QB deal. I think this proves that he is good, even very good, but he is not great. 2 fumbles with one lost is not a good stat to have in a playoff game. I get he is a rookie in the playoffs but you have to be better than that.

edit: also, Cousins on the 4th and goal takes a sack? Even IF he threw a pick it would have been better off than where he was sacked at. He is so afraid of making mistakes he had no rhythm there and it cost us the opportunity to at least make a play.
