I don't agree. If the younger guys were struggling that much in re technique in pass pro you would be seeing more holding calls and false starts.

To their credit the OL has limited these types of penalties this season.

Remember all the calls Chris Chester and Tyler Polumbus used to get to kill drives?

It's obvious that Gruden and McCloughan don't envision Alfred Morris being here in the future as the feature back.

McCloughan already said that if Todd Gurley had been 100% healthy at the time of the draft the team might very well have selected him with the #5 overall pick.

No disrespect to Matt Jones, but he was a #3 pick that a LOT of people had as a #5-6 round player. He had size and decent quickness, but the knock on him was a lack of instincts at times to 'feel' the hole and hit it 100%. He danced around a lot and was hesitant.

We see that on the field now. Plus he now seems to have ball security issues he has to overcome.

This line has not been outstanding in the run game, but I think a better running back would be getting better yardage and this would not be so much of an eye sore week after week.

That game was over by the first quarter and there was no way we were going to come back from it.

We were just done before we even got started.

The breakdowns, opinions, arguments, etc. is just white noise. We had no leadership, nobody had ANY sort of fire to them when they were out there, and we all went in there knowing we were going to lose.

I mean....you go for it on 4th and 11 but when its 4th and goal before half you don't? And then when its 4th and 5 in the 4th quarter you kick it? What logic is that? You not only went for it on 4th and 11, but you called a timeout so they KNEW you HAD to go for it. You can't fake them with a hard count because you HAVE to snap the ball!!

Then you don't even attempt an onside kick in the 4th after we scored a touchdown? Yes, the game is out of reach but where is the "F you, we can do it back to you" attitude, or "Lets practice this play" or "maybe we can"?!! I am sick of watching this team limp in to every single game with no fire, passion, or care about what happens. Outside of one half of one game we have no identity.

How the **** does a backup tight end get moved to RT and block Kerrigan? Really?!!!

Jones is the man now? Or is Morris? Didn't Gruden say "I want to get Morris involved more"? Seems like he had Morris in only after Jones fumbled and killed yet another drive!! 15 ****ing carries between them? I thought we were a power running team and that was going to be our big bad identity? Now we are not only NOT a power running team, we aren't even a running team!!

We have Cousins who is doing alright...I am not going to bash him...but he is not a stud quarterback, I think we can all agree. He is getting better but he is having to learn and pick up things. So why in the hell is he throwing the ball 40 times against a team as good as the Pats? 15 rushes and 40 passes...that is just completely insane! You have guys like Rivers, Brees, Brady, Rodgers throw 40 times. Cam Newton just threw it 30 and they rushed it 30. Sounds balanced to me!!!

Gruden wants to laugh when Desean goes off and say "yeah, hes right. he doesnt call the plays" ooooh waka waka waka...you so funny, jay. How about you figure out how to do what you say during your pressers during the game?!! Balance the ****ing offense, keep the defense off the field longer so they can rest, light a fire under these players who are just collecting checks and not working for it, and stop talking so ****ing much to the media? Can you do that? Can you maybe learn from Bellichek like Cousins is trying to from Brady and give short answers that say nothing?

I wouldn't suggest anyone on this site needs to copy/paste anything Football 101 on their fridge... We're all pretty smart here and have been watching this team for a very long time.

I would agree it's just player execution and we need to swap out bad players for good players. In truth, we just played a better team, playing at their home, and they happen to be better coached and have a better scheme. Look, the Patriots had a patched together OL... Are their RBs better than ours behind a patched together OL? The only thing I would say is obviously better on paper than our team is the QB and maybe the Kicker (but not by too much at this time). We got destroyed... They had a TE playing RT in this game... Our front 7 on defense got destroyed by a patched together OL, and much of the reason was the scheme on defense.

I also mentioned that the team lacks an identity that it had earlier in the year, and that's totally on the coach. They have totally gone away from the running game, and nobody seems to have a clue as to why they aren't as effective. Nobody has a fix for that. Wouldn't that have been addressed? Remember when we were top 5 running attack? Well? We're 27th in the league now... Remember when we had a top 5 rushing defense? We're 4th worst in the league now and 3rd worst in YPA... What happened? The coaches have known about this for weeks and nothing has been done about it. THAT is coaching.

Point taken smoot. My point was that its not on the coach if the RB gets stuffed and/or can't find the hole. You keep banging the back until you figure out he ain't getting the job done.

As to your last paragraph, what games have you been watching? It's been talked about here on and on as to the injuries to the line and the overall youth/inexperience. Teams gain intel on us as the season progresses, so the "success" you see early can't be repeated if they learn to "key" on the RB knowing our shortcomings in the passing game because of our WR's. See what I mean? Furthermore, I discussed in detail if you had read my post (although I can understand why ya'll may not want to read my dribble) that what we lack in the power running game is a fullback. Instead, we are predisposed to running out of passing formations. That's not playing to your strength, but McVay designs the game plan, and has allowed for an active passing game in the mix. As it turns out (and you can confirm this with Gruden's comments) we have had to go to the passing game as the bread and butter. Teams are demanding that Kirk beat them. That's their gamble. Meanwhile, we have lost the edge in the run game to open up the passing game. It is sort of imploding. The change up in the offensive line cannot stabilize the offense enough to get on track.

Once again I'll remind you and anyone else, there happens to be a defense out there that has other ideas as to our game plan. And yes, I can admit we are getting out coached. But as for the coaching in game decisions, I don't have a problem with it. I have a problem with the execution. Why don't you ask the wide receivers why the coach called plays that would result in drops. Doesn't work like that friend.

Mike - I heard the Jackson audio - those comments were taken way out of context. He clearly wasn't throwing anyone under the bus - in fact he was positive about the team not giving up and continuing to fight through. Don't believe everything you read.

His rep is he's a diva and a one trick pony.

Look - the point is - the spin that reporter put on Jackson's comments was flat out inaccurate. Sometimes typed words don't reflect the full meaning of what was said. It's fine to say 'I don't like him'. But the controversy about his post-game comments was much ado about nothing. You guys talk all the time about how the media twists things to reflect what they want them to reflect, and I think it's generally true. This was one of those times.

I didn't like the way Gruden handled Griffin and I said so at the time. But a starting QB is held to a higher expectation than a WR who's playing his first game in 9 weeks. Griffin was the most important voice in the locker room and honestly needed to shut his yap. I thought it was a bad call to throw him under the bus publicly but I do think there may have been some intent to challenge and motivate him there. Even if it was driven by less honorable motives, I think we have to consider Gruden may have learned his lesson from that mistake (vs. somehow playing favorites or being inconsistent).

Bottom line - the Jackson stuff is just media-created pseudo-controversy - the same shit we've seen for years.

I'm sorry but I just don't see it that way.

Last year Jackson started the "locker room split" talk and then took a "leadership" role with the team.

This year he's hurt, angry, and talking to the media and saying things he shouldn't say even if taken out of context. To me thats not a leader.

I'm also not going to be easy on gruden and hope he's learned from what he did to Griffin. He was adamant and ruthless in how he handled that and the fact he's so hands off just furthers my view that it was personal.

I'm no fan of Jacksons but I thought his comments were fairly mild and taken out of proportion. The 'I didn't drop any passes' line was probably the worst. The other bit about not calling the plays or throwing the passes was ... meh. I don't think he meant anything by that. And I'm not one to give this guy ANY leeway.

I was pissed when I read the comments, but when I heard how they were stated (and the rest of his very team-oriented comments) I totally felt differently. I'm not defending Jackson's entire history, just in this instance. Again, much ado about nothing.

The fact remains that Jackson has been out a long time with injury, one that often afflicts guys that hold out or do not properly prepare themselves for the season.

Jackson dogged it in the offseason and slow rolled the shoulder into not participating in most of camp and the preseason, then he pulls up lame less than three quarters into the opening game.

We just don't need the grief.

$8M for what, maybe 30 catches in 2015?

Jackson behaved himself in 2014, said the right things and put up good numbers.

But that productivity in 2014 seemed to give him a sense of immunity from having to do much other than ensure the launch of his reality show and music label in the offseason.

The Redskins 'needed' him and he milked it for all it was worth.

Fine. But this guy needs to be gone after the season.

We need to draft a WR in 2016 with size and speed to be an all-around performer rather than just a hit or miss deep threat.

We have some very good receivers in this division in Bryant, Beckham, Cruz, etc.

Right now we are non-competitive at WR with those teams and quite a number of others around the league too.

Jackson is not value for money or even high production at high cost.

He is a high cost guy that MAY be productive if he is 100% healthy and maintains his focus.

But either way you can't count on him.

And that's really the point.

I believe if we cut him before June 1 the cap hit is about $6.25 million. After June 1st it's a $1.25 million hit for 2016 and the rest is pro-rated? I don't remember all the rules.

That's not going to happen.

There are only 3 or 4 receivers in the league I would pay that kind of money to and these guys are not in their class.
