Random Commanders Thoughts

Just saw a hilarious play.
Scherff had no-one to block in front of him.
He looks over at Moses, who was already handling his defender well, and Scherff walks over to the guy, and effortlessly just flattens him to the ground

One day we will be a good team again. I really hope no one tries to blame Cousins for the loss today...for as bad as we played, he did not.

I see Kirk differently from others. nor blaming him for the loss but not seeing him as the answer either.

not a probe at El or some others - I have been consistent on this all year long and back into preseason. the dude runs the offense better griffin....so far....a net upgrade. but I'm just not seeing him as the guy in the long run. I watched some of the first quarter...cut out to play 9...and watched the fourth qtr. switched back and forth from 'tween Raiders and Skins game.

- how many more games we gonna have to watch cousins throw weak passes off his back foot?

- how often are we going to have to watch an offense he leads sputter in the 3rd qtr/second half?

- how often are we going to have to watch the coaches not challenge their QB by mixing in a deep passing game?

- when is junior going to demonstrate some leadership and take over when the natives aint performing?

- why is it when things go well it's all about how ell Cousins played but when they go South it's on anyone but him?

- what's the percentage of well thrown passes on those end zone fade routes?

- whatever Gruden et al are scheming....d-coordinators have it figured out and are stuffing the running game. it's been what....3/4 weeks now of complete nothing? may be partly n the players....but this one is on coaching IMO.

in other depts:

- the defense continues to look horrendous on basic tackling

- what the H?!! I believe TomE nailed it earlier in the week - what's with angles and tackling?

I watched Carr and compared him to Cousins. Carr looked better to me.

we were lucky bellicheat wanted to tweak the running game today. this could easily have been a lot worse - contrary to what some of the TV pundits are saying.

I don't give a rip how attached folks feel about Cousins. being better than Griffin isn't the same thing as being destined for success. had we traded for Cousins he'd be benched by now.

and what's with Gruden? 1-11 on the road since he arrived? unable to get his team to perform in the 3rd qtr?

this team has improved - largely because McL is moving the roster to younger, faster, more talented. the real question, in my mind, is are we getting the performance we should expect or is this team under-performing?

the dropped passes? that comes from lack of focus. so one has to ask - why?

So now we got Desean Jackson running his mouth about how he can't throw the ball to himself and that he doesn't call the plays, after the game.

Great.

Jackson...you've been AWOL all season long and a tippy toeing mo fo in practice and in your first game back, you want to run that mouth??

Get this Philly trash off my team.

I respect your intellect but before I read your lengthy post I want to know - did you watch the game - all of it- today?

Haven't seen his comments but the least of our worries in 2015 is how many times Desean got targeted. That's pretty funny :)

I watched and listened to the rest on the radio - it's easy to multitask at this point in the evolution of this team.

I'm well aware of the dropped passes. Just as I am of how this all flows/connects from the very beginning in preseason.

It's my opinion. I respect the opinions of others.

You really don't...we understand Cousins has liabilities...some that may never be overcome.

Shoulda played that round...you need the practice for the upcoming tournament.

Probably the same as every other NFL QB...did you see some of Brady's throws today? He was throwing off his back foot quite often today. Cousins isn't the only one doing it. And please don't suggest this is me saying Cousins compares to Brady in any way other than QB's don't throw a perfect throw every attempt!

- how often are we going to have to watch an offense he leads sputter in the 3rd qtr/second half?
As long as his receivers continue to drop passes he throws right in their hands?

-
how often are we going to have to watch the coaches not challenge their QB by mixing in a deep passing game?
As long as the receivers continue to lack the ability to get separation from the defenders?

- when is junior going to demonstrate some leadership and take over when the natives aint performing?
Maybe never.

- why is it when things go well it's all about how ell Cousins played but when they go South it's on anyone but him?
Because today, there was at least 8 dropped passes. Today, it was not Cousins fault...when it's his fault, it's his fault, i.e, Atlanta INT when he threw a terrible pick 6. There are some who suggest the receiver slipping may have caused the INT, I still maintain it was a poor throw.

- whatever Gruden et al are scheming....d-coordinators have it figured out and are stuffing the running game. it's been what....3/4 weeks now of complete nothing? may be partly n the players....but this one is on coaching IMO.
OK, we got behind, coaches seemed to give up on the rush. No quarrels there.

I don't give a rip how attached folks feel about Cousins. being better than Griffin isn't the same thing as being destined for success. had we traded for Cousins he'd be benched by now.

What do you want at this point...we are not Super Bowl bound, Colt McCoy? You want Griffin back in there so we lose 16 million in cap space?

and what's with Gruden? 1-11 on the road since he arrived? unable to get his team to perform in the 3rd qtr?
Well, looking at Minnesota, I sure do wish we'd gone with Mike Zimmer instead of Gruden like I'd hoped when we interviewed him, but our ownership wants offensive minded coaching at the HC position so blame Snyder and Allen if you must.

this team has improved - largely because McL is moving the roster to younger, faster, more talented. the real question, in my mind, is are we getting the performance we should expect or is this team under-performing?
Probably not getting all we should, but we are definitely lacking talent. It's not going to happen in a year because we've been talent deficient for too long.

the dropped passes? that comes from lack of focus. so one has to ask - why?
Coaching? OK...sure.

I don't think you really pay attention to what others say. No one is saying Kirk Cousins is Tom Brady...hell, I don't think anyone is saying he is Blake Bortles. All I keep hearing is that he works hard and is slowly progressing. Is that good enough long term? I will repeat myself...I don't think so. But the situation we are in now, he is our starter, he is not going anywhere as the starter, we are not going to the super bowl this year with him as the starter, but maybe...just maybe he can turn the corner and become someone this team can use at the QB position for a year or three until the future Hall of Fame lands in our lap.

So go ahead, focus all your energy on how poor he is, go ahead and moan about how bad he is...I prefer to watch him progress into a serviceable QB while we build this team. Or...would you rather we spend all our resources on a the next great QB in the offseason...again?

Yeah, I didn't see him throwing a fit, but this is unacceptable...especially when he couldn't get open much of the day, in single coverage.

To top that off, the 1st catch he does make? He comes up limp. He's soft and we should just drop him. Crowder is performing better.

you know...all those dropped passes - by ALL receivers and rbs? it was a game at NE. just sayin.

Explain please, I can't figure out what you are saying?

Geographically challenged so couldn't see the game. Sounds like the pats sprayed the footballs with Pam when we were on offense!

I expected a lot more than this though, ESPECIALLY coming off our bye.

Yeah, it was crazy bad Win4..... the INT was on Garcon all the way, the dude was open big time, ball on the money, bounced off his hands or something and the defenders had a jump ball up for grabs.

Carrier was wide open down the line, perfect ball, dropped it with an open field ahead for a big gainer.

Like this almost the whole game, plays were there to be had and someone would poke the pooch, killing the offense.

Not sure but don't think Roberts dropped anything, go figure.

Thanks Tom, seems like simple fundamentals, shit they SHOULD'VE cleared up in practice.

So were they stacking the line or was our running game that inept?
