Fans must give Jerry Jones a wake-up call on Greg Hardy

As much as the photos have exposed Hardy for what he appears to be -- a 6-foot-4, 279-pound coward -- this case has exposed Jones as the worst owner in the post-Donald Sterling world of major professional sports, one level above (or below) Daniel Snyder. This has nothing to do with the fact the Cowboys have won three playoff games in 20 years. No, it has everything to do with Jones' staggering lack of leadership in this case.

What an asshole. As serious as this situation is, the writer can't help himself from taking a gratuitous shot at someone that has nothing to do with the story.

Yeah, clicked on the link before actually reading the snippet you quoted, surprised me to see Snyder's name in there too.

Easy shots perpetuating the legacy of Snyder is very low hanging fruit, might even be rotted compost by now.

Snyder may not be the most beloved owner in the league for whatever reasons but men beating on women is not something the husband of a wife who started 'pink' in the NFL should be associated with in any shape or form.
 
More bad news. Terrance Knighton won't play Sunday. He did not make the trip due to a migraine. I'm getting one myself.

He will be missed, on the 11 snaps a game he takes.
 
That's a big loss Brian - he's a big body plugging those run lanes. And he's one of the D unit leaders.

Pats may score 60 this weekend.
 
Man. Having something like that for which you will battle your whole life sucks. I've had bad headaches, but never a migraine. I can't imagine.

I get occasional migraines which can knock me out for at least a day. Everything from intense head pain, nausea, weakness in my legs, numbness throughout the body, etc. From what the Dr. has told me I don't get them frequently enough nor severe enough to be concerned. But let me tell you it is not a fun day for me when I get one. Even after the intense pain is gone and the rest of my body stops shaking and regains it's strength, I have about another day where any sudden movement or touch to the head or worse yet a sneeze and I get a sudden jarring pain in my head. It sucks for me sitting at home and being told what I get is not even severe.

I can't imagine what Knighton has to go through. Not only does he have to deal with the regular symptoms, but then he also gets to put his helmet on and bang his head against other heads. Just dealing with that alone would be extremely difficult. Throw in the extra sensitivity these days surrounding concussions, and it's no wonder that he didn't even make the trip.

John, not sure if you can see it on TV, but he struggles to get into the huddle and struggles to get off the field when substituted. For the 2 or 3 good plays a game he has...is it worth it? If we tried to play a quick tempo Pats team trying to get him on and off the field, it could have been costly for us. Brady would have taken full advantage of it.


I liked the signing, but he doesn't strike me as a big loss, especially in a game where the Pats will wear his big butt down with their tempo. Chris Baker has outplayed him this season in my eyes.

Not arguing that. Nothing you said has anything to do with his ability when he's in there (and he's in there most of the time - so the on/off thing isn't particularly relevant). He's a big, bad body who fills his gap extremely well and who is disruptive. I think you're drastically understating his value in there. I like Baker better too. But Knighton is a big, aggressive guy who can play. We're a worse defense without him.
 
funny.....more and more the nice moves McL made vis d-line strike me as stop-gap measures. he took a bad situation and improved it - but the d-line is still gonna need reengineering over the next several years. I also don't see the value in Trent as a starter. he's a good player to have on the roster.....just hasn't struck me as being athletic enough since day 1.

McL is gonna have to make a decision soon enough - are we gonna be a Seahawks type team where defense is the heart of success....or are we going to be one of those high scoring passing machines? cap kinda forces one direction or the other. not sure whether he and our erstwhile young coach are in synch in this respect.
 
I'd really, really love to see a game today where Brady has to evade sacks and throws at least one pick. To me, win or lose, that would show significant progress.

I'd give a body part fora win.

nice SA El. can't see that on TV. what's your take on how pot roast sets up the LBs and other d-linemen to be successful?

cooley, btw, keeps claiming that baker often gets into the backfield but too frequently in a way that takes him out of a play. you seeing that at games?
