Random Commanders Thoughts

I think the Redskins should make or give Callahan the Asst. HC and a nice raise. With what he has done it may be hard to keep him after this season.

Don't know Callahan's past coaching history, but some guys don't want to be a HC. They enjoy what they do and don't what the larger responsibility where you lose the chance to focus on what you really love. Kind of like another Line Coach we had around here back in the day. :) If Gruden and McCL are truly on the same page, and we know have a great OC line coach and the possibility of a good DC, we may finally have some solid pieces in place. We'll know better on the HC and DC as the year proceeds. McCL and Callahan have the track record already. During Gibbs I we had that same structure. We can at least hope for something similar.

If you make Callahan an Asst HC then only way another team can talk to him is if they want him as the Head Coach.

some good news:

Giants CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (concussion) and WR Victor Cruz (calf) both were ruled out for Thursday night vs. Redskins

Lol, just heard booger McFarland use the bs bleacher report article on how rg3 and cousins won't speak to each other as his reason for why the skins don't have a prayer for the post season.

Media laziness at its best.

Once a booger, always a booger

I'm going to the Foo fighters tonight so I'll be missing my second game in a row. If they win this game I'm going to have to consider that it might be me that makes us lose.

this is freaking warrior talk here!!

"I understand everybody's giving us compliments and everything," Jean Francois said. "That's great. Leave that to the fans. Leave that to the media to talk about. For us, that's just the way we play. We've got to go out there, break the man in front of you. We've got to hit. We've got to play Redskin football, basically."

We say it over and over again, yet never seem to remember:

Winning. Solves. Everything.

Hard to overestimate the "culture change" a win tonight could mean for this franchise and all who follow it.

LOL I never listen to anybody named "Booger"

Only as long as it continues. I think all of us would rather avoid the winning style of 2012, where it ended up solving nothing and left us worse for wear, having hope and taking it away. 2012 made many perspectives worse, because it actually gave us some wins.

We need about 3-4 years of sustained success before we can begin to right the wrongs from the past 10 seasons. Until then, a win is just a win, nothing more.

What - we're 'victims' now? Sorry man, I reject that. I just want a hard-fighting, competitive team to root for. The current players and coaches though don't owe us a damn thing. They aren't responsible for the miserable state of this fanbase. All they can control is what they do out there on the field while they are in B&G. I think good things are coming - but I'm not going to saddle the current folks with my 2 decades of misery.

And for the record, a win is NEVER, EVER, 'just a win'. Nor do we need to avoid a particular 'winning style'. Just effing win!

It may be different for you, and those who live across the pond, but try 10 years of 3am starts, 10 years of not knowing what a Monday is like, 10 years of 6 'day' weeks, and you'll know why a sustained period of success will go a long way to redemption. I do agree that you can't blame the current roster for our previous 'unsuccess' (?), but the Redskins are the Redskins, and always will be, and it is the Redskins who will have their name etched on the Lombardi, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I have special respect for overseas fans, and those who have adopted our team. I grew up outside DC. My fandom is genetically imprinted on me and no amount of failure can ever change that. But pain is pain and glory is glory, and the only thing I reject is the idea that we are doomed to feel one and not the other. We'll rise again. You may be seeing the beginnings of that as we speak.

Just win baby. All the aggravation of the past couple decades will fade away quickly. All sports franchises go through sucky periods. We have so much more visibility now than fans in the past it seems much worse, but it really isn't. Losing is losing. It sucks equally. Winning is Winning. It's equally euphoric. Start winning and I could care less what's happened getting here. I want to enjoy a game knowing we have an even chance, and enjoy the after game week. I remember grabbing all the Monday morning papers during Gibbs 1 to read all the articles. Glorious. Hope this is the beginning. Will still be some bumps, but if we're going in the right direction, it will be a much more fun ride.

God hates me.... Pregame coming on, and the wife has the Pope on the big screen..... sheeeeeeeeeesh

Someone needs to tell the NFL Network there are two teams playing tonight. Grief.
