Random Commanders Thoughts

well bust my britches! that one played out differently from expectations. very nice win!

can't say enough about how McL has overhauled both lines - and rebuilt the defense. wow!

great draft pick with Jones as well.

still have some problems.....

- the concept in play is designed to minimize the pressure on the QB. understandable for now. won't work if the team falls behind early.

- still seeing some head scratching playcalls.

overall......A+ defense second week in a row. enough from the offense in the first half to set up the win.

nice!

The best part was imo the last drive to seal it. We finally learned how to close out a game, props to Gruden,

Improvements. What I most want to see. Team has definitely improved talent. Lines are looking real good. It they trend up with playing time, they'll be dominant.

2 outstanding games in a row by the defense

Glad to be getting Culliver back against Beckham and the Giants.

What do you know?

Solid line play, win the time of possession battle and play clean on special teams and you win 😎

The only FOX commentator that had the stones to discuss the Redskins win after they all picked the Rams was Johnson.

The rest of them couldn't wait to hype the Dallas game.

Romo out eight weeks with a broken collar bone.

Sam Bradford and Philly's O looks like hot garbage.

Giants 0-2.....

After watching the other NFC E teams today, I have to say, we were the most competent today......

Hopefully our bad luck on prime time ends Thursday and we get a solid victory

This.^^^^

If attitude/culture really is changing with this team, we play a solid game Thursday night and win the ball game.

Too many times, we've seen this team follow up a good win with a very flat/lackluster performance the next game...especially in prime time.

Will be very interested to see if it's the same old song and dance Thursday or if the script has been flipped.

It will be a tall order going into New York, a place that has not been too friendly to us.

Add to that the fact that the Giants are sitting there thinking they could easily be 2-0, having dropped two games in the final seconds, and you obviously have a difficult fight ahead of you.

It's this type of game where the identity that McCloughan has preached needs to shine. Specifically, we need to be the aggressors, we can't be intimidated, and we need to be the team who comes out punching.

We can't let New York establish momentum and force us to become sloppy.

Gruden needs to have this team ready, composed, and capable of settling in nicely during the 1st quarter, where the Giants will likely be hungriest.

The game can't get away from us early...it's imperative that Gruden has the coaching performance of his tenure thus far in Washington come Thursday.

Oh yeah...and Mara can go you know where too.

I gotta say I was on board with fansince and many others who wanted and thought we should choose Leonard Williams with the #5 pick.

It probably wouldn't have been a bad idea, but I have to say...Scherff is a baller and the kid is nasty. He hits people when most have accpeted the play is over.

McLoughan has opted for a tried, tested, and proven formula for success in the NFL - strong line play along both fronts.

It's early - it's only been two weeks, but we are already starting to see a few signs of the type of success that a team is capable of with this type of approach to building a football team.

Watching on television, I haven't heard Scherff's name called too many times over the first two weeks of the season against two very strong defensive fronts in Miami and St. Louis.

For a rookie o-lineman, that's a major plus and something that should help him to grow in confidence moving forward.

I really liked the pick - it was as much about establishing an attitude on the football field as anything else (something we've lacked forever).

Good post CHog, not to forget Moses is "practally" a rookie as well.

Love the way the D has played so far. Hazmat & Raheem gone is 2 major steps forward in itself.

I love the run it down their throat mentality. Brings back memories.

This was the most overall both-sides-of-the-ball competent football I have seen the Redskins play in a game in quite a while.

Good job indeed.

Thursday nights game is not a good thing in my book. It seems to me, more then once the Giants have gotten "healthy" playing us, and more often then not, we don't fare well in prime time.

True Miles. The only counter I'll throw out to that is that Thursday night games generally are fairly sloppy (thanks for subjecting us to an inferior product, Roger) because of the shortened time frame. I think that favors us, not them. They seem to be more of a passing offense to me, and if we can dominate the ground game for the third game in a row, we could handle them, I think.

There are a lot of unknowns, but this is the ONE time the Thursday night game might possibly work to our benefit.

I'm surprised they let me on the plane lol
