Random Commanders Thoughts

Does that mean we trust in Jeron to handle it? Looks that way since we signed will Blackmon who is a corner

We just can't catch a break at safety......too soon for a pun

I like Jeron more than duke. They loved him up in Seattle

Info from the .com

- The changes this week on the Redskins’ unofficial depth chart on the defensive side of the ball are all in the secondary. At the second cornerback spot, Bashaud Breeland returns from suspension to replace starter Chris Culliver, who is suspended this week. Listed as the No. 2 cornerback in that spot is David Amerson

- At strong safety, Trenton Robinson – listed as a backup at free safety a week ago – is now listed as the starter, due to Duke Ihenacho’s broken/dislocated wrist. Jeron Johnson remains the backup at strong safety.

- At free safety, Dashon Goldson, the defensive captain, sticks to his starter spot, and with Robinson moving to strong safety, rookie Kyshoen Jarrett moves up to the primary backup role.

Jeron is backup? Who is Trenton Robinson? Wow..that just seems like it's ridiculous to do. Jeron was strong all through camp

Trenton looked good in camp too... really flashed in the preaseason showing good man coverage skills.

Some dude on Facebook with way more skill than me made this...but it sure looks nice, don't it?

Soooo we're listening to Phildo Simms call our game next week? Looks like it's gonna be a mute kind of program.

Phildo is my new favorite nickname for him

Yeah hearing his anti Redskins bs before makes ya wanna blast him in the face with brass knuckles.

Edit: Or maybe that's just me

:paranoid:

I'm sure I'm not the only to have noticed this ...

The state of our franchise, and state of mind of our fans, succinctly reflected.

Simms already previewed the game as 'The Washington football team vs.................. '

Amusing that his son thinks its all PR crap

In re Jeron Johnson, John Keim indicated on ESPN 980 a couple of days ago that the coaching staff thought he was a step slow in pass coverage and his lack of size worked against him as well.

The really disappointing thing though is that Johnson was supposed to be a good special teams player in Seattle and from what Cooley said about the film breakdown he has been 'dogging it' on teams.

Evidently, he is sulking just like Andre Roberts was sulking last year when he got bumped down when the team acquired DeSean Jackson.

Me too but it's only because for the life of me I can't think of anything to post that would fit in with the Good Stuff thread. So I have refrained out of desire to not bring that thread down.

Om is right though...it's a direct reflection of the WR state of things.

There were quite a few positives in last week's game, loss aside.

Right now the lenses I'm watching through aren't rose colored but sh*t. I'm admittedly jaded and it sucks.

This is actually the best I felt about this organization since Gibbs came back in 2004.

We are finally keeping and making draft choices, signing value free agents, and getting rid of guys that are over the hill, malcontents or simply guys that don't improve year over year.

I didn't expect the Redskins to beat the Dolphins on Sunday, but I expected the team to play a close game and despite the loss of several players did just that.

This year is about FINDING out who we can count on going forward. Whose a player and whose a pretender.

Also, which guys perhaps like Jordan Reed are guys with ability but not with that second skill, AVAILABILITY :)

If Moses and Scherff work out on the right side you then have 3 building blocks on the OL age 27 or younger.

We need reinforcements at WR, mainly because we need more speed. Crowder and Grant can catch the football and make first downs, but they are not game-breakers.

Meanwhile the salaries of Pierre Garcon and Andre Roberts likely means they are gone after 2015.

That's all part of the process of determining who is going to be left standing for this team to move forward into the future and who is not.

Am I worried about the secondary?

Yeah, but you can only address so many things in one offseason.

We have to figure out if Breeland and Amerson can really play.

The 'vacancy' sign at safety should be up once the season comes to a conclusion.

You didn't see how aggressive our D was last week, how dominating our run game was most of the game, and even that Cousins in company moved the ball effectively at times? Then there's the performance of several rookies even beyond the obvious (Scherff and Jones)...

Those aren't 'rose colored' assessments imho.
