Random Commanders Thoughts

Probably Texas, no frighin way I'd live in that state with all the concrete Cowboys, heehaw & stuff.

That's a little harsh. I love Texas, personally

Been to San Antonio & Wichita Falls with the drive in between. Granted it was basic training & tech school but those areas are non pleasant imho.

Austin, San Antonio, Waco, Dallas...a lot of very nice areas out there. If I could buy a 100 acre plot out there and seal it off with a 10 foot wall I'd live there FOREVER!!

Some tweets and thoughts from today.

RG is polarizing and every step is criticized. The man got off social media, dedicated himself to his craft & improved a lot this offseason.

Washington Redskins ‏@redskinsbuzztap
Jordan Reed dealing with hamstring soreness.

Tarik El-Bashir ‏@TarikCSN
RG3 had a sharp practice today and afterward said, "from a mental and fundamental standpoint, today was my best practice in camp".

Brian McNally ‏@bmcnally14
More RG3 on working after practice with his dad: "I'm not gonna say 'Hey, can my dad comes into meetings?' That's not his place".

John Keim ‏@john_keim
RG3 looked sharp today. keep in mind they were not going full speed. Not taking away from his day, but not being honest if that's not stated.

Ben Standig ‏@BenStandig
Cousins said he expects to play a bunch this week after RG3 exits. Added Colt likely takes no. 2 snaps next week.

Todd Dybas ‏@Todd_Dybas
Cousins says he believes he will play the middle two quarters on Thursday and McCoy will finish game. Then switch that next game.

Zac Boyer ‏@ZacBoyer
Gruden said a few minutes ago at his presser that Kerrigan, W.Compton, Jackson, Amerson, Breeland and Trevardo Williams won't play.

Mike Jones ‏@MikeJonesWaPo
Logan Paulsen went down to see Dr. Robert Anderson down in North Carolina about his sprained toe.
BB Note: Niles Paul tweaked his shoulder, but that was temporary - had a full practice. Jordan Reed is day to day though with a hamstring issue.
Extra BB Note: Mike has likely won THE BET already.

And this little gem...

Faux John Madden ‏@FauxJohnMadden
BREAKING: Bears reach out to Jets player that punched out Geno Smith to check availability on meeting with Jay Cutler.

Based on what I can search and find, it appears Thursday's Skins game will not be nationally televised.
In fact, none of our preseason games will be.
Is all of that correct ?

Unfortunately, there are two much bigger games Thursday night that will have more mass appeal than our game. So we won't be on.

I'm buying that preseason thing again. Thanks again Boone for turning me onto it.

I'll be at the game Thursday night so I'll at least get to see that one!

Skins/Browns game will show on NFL Network guys at 1 a.m.

Jordan Reed out with hamstring soreness.

Can't make the club sittin in the tub.

He is absurd on the radio. I think he's living in Colorado now. :pimp::munching_out:

All those years in Washington, and still he's more loyal to the Denver Broncos ? :huh2:

EDIT : Nevermind, I would not want to spend my retirement in the DC area, no matter what team I had played for, or for how long, or under any circumstances.

How many times will you say the same thing that nobody agrees with? Are you doing it just to piss people off? You don't think we heard you? What is it?

Real surprised to see Deangelo Hall starting shit from the sidelines on Hard Knocks

Anybody putting any positive spin on that bullshit can be the one responsible to find another team to practice with next season. Pretty dissapointed in our punk ass "veterans"

McD5 in Dez's rookie season:

"This kid's going to be a nightmare for years to come."

tr1: "He'll be out of the league in a year. He's done. Marko Mitchell is the real deal."

Honestly tr1, you sound like my gf. I respect your nonsense, but take it to the Cowgirls forum.

It's time for positive vibes.

I suppose I'm a real downer with my critiques, but in comparison to our team's performance over the last two years, I thought our fans could get past the happy talk from the organization.

We whiffed on a right tackle. When we were told we don't draft for need, then Scherff shouldn't have been the pick. Moses was drafted to be a right tackle...he looked bad last year. At least the team is acknowledging Scherff really should be a guard. I hope (and it's likely he'll succeed there) but he really isn't RT material, the league knew it, and selling the pick to us as a good thing is troubling.

You don't draft a guard with the #5 pick.

Let's try to hold the team accountable for it's continuing bad drafting mistakes, shall we?

Neither Scherff nor Moses are anywhere close to being proven a mistake.
I'll hold the team accountable, once it's proven to be a "whiff", and once a draft choice has had a full, reasonable chance to come into fruition.
You can't hold a team accountable for planting the wrong seed, if you havn't given the seed a chance to grow. You're just speculating, and treating speculating as fact.
Could you find it in you, to delay judgment on a player, and on a Front Office and it's decisions, at least until they've had a full, reasonable opportunity to reveal their true potential ?

And please do not bring up 2011 or 2013 drafts, or really anything prior to 2015, as "proof"
Because they're irrelevant, to what the current regime is doing.

I don't think the team is selling anything we've discussed regarding Scherff, haven't heard from 'team mouthpieces' touting the move as anything special other than Moses appears to have made strides in his second year and they still like his length.

Most of what I see here is our own spin on the situation.

Yeah maybe picking up the 'best o line guy' in the draft to just play guard might be a mistake at #5 value wise (sez who anyway?), maybe Williams should have been taken (but according to that same who, Williams should have not been there to begin with). Then maybe the second, third, fourth or fifth best oline guy on our board could be taken later.... I don't know.

Maybe Crowder will get busted and suspended, maybe JR will beat up women some more, maybe Stash Breeland and will lightup again, maybe Trent Wms will light another blunt or get in a brawl again, maybe DJax will hang in the hood again, maybe Griff will get injured again, maybe Kirk will throw 6 ints a game, maybe Forbath will miss 6 this year, maybe Way will shank a few, maybe MeAngelo will get suspended for unbecoming, maybe PotRoast will flop, maybe Garcon will explode and get suspended, maybe Alf will fumble more, maybe Reed will get on the field, maybe....Scherff and Moses just make for a better combo than Long and Scherff on the right side for now.

This presumes that the Scherff /Moses combo is written 'in stone' and is set for opening day.

Maybe.

Scherff was an excellent choice at #5, we haven't had a legit starting RT since Jansen. McLovin was brought into the organization to identify & fill weaknesses and our shit line was/is priority #1.

TR, what's it matter if he was 5 or 32? Hell if he does end up guard all the better imho. That means Moses is developing fast under Cal and we'll have a young line to gel many years.
