I have been around Snyder on a number of occasions covering the team. My impression of him is that he's kind of a controlling, cutthroat, arrogant SOB (and that his employees feared him, which is usually a pretty good indicator of who someone is). I could be wrong, that's just the impression I always got.
Up until the mid-2000's, I was probably in the 'give Snyder the benefit of the doubt' camp, as I figured he was at least willing to spend to build the team and just suffered from a lack of knowledge about what it takes to put together a winning franchise. I couldn't sustain that view, and ultimately I think if you fail, you cannot escape accountability for it. I've said before, and I believe, that Joe Gibbs left the 2nd time because he didn't really want to work for the guy, and that this was the real reason, not all the others provided publically. Again, just my opinion, and I could be 100% wrong.
All that being said, you can't even keep one person's comments straight from another's here. No one who was *associated* with the team back then signed anything, made any agreements, or otherwise consented to censorship about Dan Snyder, the team, or anything else. Imply that again, and I will personally throw your ass off BGO for good. I've had lots of people over the years beg me to do that and I've always defended folks rights to post minority viewpoints, no matter how annoying others might find them. We have rarely felt the need to say it publically, but individuals post here at our leisure and grace.
