I am a HUGE Griffin defender and we all know it.....there is that disclaimer

I am sure he is gunshy as heck when it comes to the media and what he says. That was a stupid ass question loaded up for nothing but drama and if it were me I would probably have felt awkward too and answered like a weirdo with a lot of "umm" "uhh" and other things.

Are they allowed to not answer? I mean, I'm sure he could do the whole Marshawn thing but then people would probably get mad at him for that. I seriously don't know...I wish the kid could just transport back to his 2012 self and be "happy" again.

There's a difference between analyzing someone's exact words, and reading body language. You shouldn't be surprised you are catching hell for it - lovingly, if you ask me - because I think it's one of your sillier assertions over the years (and I've made plenty of them myself). You may end up being right about Gruden, I gave him hell last season for a lot of what you are giving him hell for - but if you are right it won't be because of the faces he made during press conferences...

that's an over-simplification. :) there are many factors that play into my mindset. at the end of the day...I'm not gonna stress over what anyone else believes or doesn't believe. 99.99% of adopted positions are hugely subjective from the git go. all part of the fun.

Boone...Sir....actually I'm pretty relaxed about it. It's kinda silly anyway. If Gruden does well...great! If he doesn't....it means more losing....but it doesn't impact the important things in life.

time to get excited about the first draft under McL! tired of all the Gruden, Griffin, McCoy, etc., threads. putting them aside for a while.
 
There we are on solid common ground. I am excited by the changes I've seen in 4 short months... New coaches, new players, new approaches, and all our draft picks still in pocket...

They are still showing that mock with us taking Gregory. That's from Charles Davis--he's not so hot.

But nothing has yet to come close to Bucky Brooks. Years ago he was adamant that Sam Bradford wouldn't go in the top 10--and he was the only analyst who believed it. Even up until the night before the draft!

I have no idea if he was just embarrassed, felt backed into a corner, or was just trying to make a name for himself.

Of course, the next day Sam Bradford was expectedly drafted first.

Who was the last Redskins defensive lineman you could legitimately call an impact player (in a good way---i.e., not Haynesworth) here for any appreciable length of time?

Cornelius Griffin?

Charles Mann?

Dexter's last year here was 1989. Mann's was 1993.

We are all easier to get along with and things go better when we face no adversity.

2012 in retrospect was probably bad for Griffin. It gave him instant credibility and a feeling that he had arrived without going through any real heartache.

That's not usual for NFL rookies, let alone rookie quarterbacks.

Shanahan may have concocted the best scheme to get immediate production out of Robert but he didn't help him in the process of maturing into an NFL passer.

That's what you get when a coach is 62 and doesn't have the patience.
