I just love the phrase "Doesn't fit in". I remember in my high school days a couple of people who didn't fit in-they weren't in the "in-crowd", they weren't easy to talk to, kinda shy, hung out together and played chess during lunch hour, seldom went to school social functions even both were Honor Society students with close to 4.0 GPAs. Not among the "popular kids", really, not heavy into the community of cliques that formed the social structure. Today they would probably be classed as "geeks" or "nerds" or something equally damning.

I also remember one got a full academic scholarship to Harvard and the other a full academic scholarship to M.I.T. One, named Jerry as I recall went into engineering and the other if memory serves went into one of the physical sciences. There were others but those two stood out in my memory for fitting the phrase "Doesn't fit in".

I have since become somewhat skeptical of the use of that phrase as a means of making character judgements.

I also remember that Griffin completed his degree in something like three-and-a-half years with an excellent academic record.


Sometimes just being smarter than most other people makes the category "Doesn't fit in" easy to use.

I listened to a piece of that show. the full argument was there were folks in the FO wedded to not being the stuckees for the two traded firsts (the 3rd was an exchange) and were therefore looking at this year as the last chance. CC looked at it from McL's pov and argued that if a major rebuild iis in order...he doesn't really care...why fight the boss in yr one?

you gotta remember: all these talk shows spin on controversy so folks will dial in. the funny part? I don't know how many times they preface these faux dramas with "I like Robert. This isn't personal". yea....90% of it is BS......but isn't all media these days?

btw...all three were trying to build toward a narrative that the fall guy in all of this was going to be Gruden.

The only problem with that is the new HC would likely want his own staff. And we just hired all of these new coaches.

I hear ya FS62, just wished the masses would look at the "reports" subjectively as well. Im hesitant on ALL news outlets any more with the current BS reporting going on. Media in general has really gone to shit with spin doctoring and rumor spreading.

I was under the impression that the FO was giving this season to see what Bob has, put up or shut up thing. If he doesn't work out and an individual needs blame, it should go to Shanahan (for all the picks given up). It is what it is, if moving on from Griff after fair competition is gonna happen so be it IMO.

My gut says he's not the answer at QB but I'm rooting like hell for him while he is.

McD....context was the radio show. the argument goes that if McL's plan is 2-3 yrs in the making - that there are huge holes on this team and will take a couple years to complete a heavy rebuild. he doesn't care as much about the person who has to deal with the immediate reality of his QB staff moving all over the map - Gruden. the open assumption was that another season like last and Gruden may be history. all speculative. I don't mind it (these talk radio themes) - I just get tired of hearing the same thing week after week......month after month

Not a no. A hell no. Black alternates are put out there to rape the fanbase of even more of their money. I'm no to player nicknames, coaches nicknames. Player group nicknames, I'm no to alternative uniforms that aren't throwbacks, and get the eff on my lawn punk!

If you saw the 30 for 30 on the U, the 2nd one, Miami had lost a bunch of scholarships when Moss was being recruited. So Moss and a few others went to Miami on track scholarships. That's how they were able to get more players into Miami legitimately to play football with limited scholarships. (The Nevin Shapiro cheating came a few years after that). In fact, Moss is still in the top 5 in a few events in Miami history.

I found this Miami record interesting. It's their 5th spot in the 4x100 relay. Moss is also on the 2nd fastest team in that race.

You very well could be right. Like others have said it could just be all about the clicks & attention for CC as well. We've had quite a bit of team news lately and now there's nothing, other than rating players for the draft.
