I agree, I don't think the Patriots will suffer any penalties as a result of the recent flap.

That's why, even though I think they have a good chance of winning the game today, I HOPE they lose 43-0.

Nothing better than seeing Bellichick and Brady hang their heads and try to explain coming up short as in 2007 and 2011.

Those press conferences are actually a lot of fun to watch :D

26. Washington Redskins

DB: The Skins may have uncovered a gem in 2014 fourth-round pick Bashaud Breeland, but the rest of their secondary is an utter mess. There isn't a quality safety on the roster. 2013 second-rounder David Amerson shows all the symptoms of a bust, and DeAngelo Hall tore his Achilles' tendon twice in 2014. Washington needs several new defensive backs.

OL: LT Trent Williams and C Kory Lichtensteiger are Washington's only offensive linemen who should be secure as 2015 starters. Free agent RT Tyler Polumbus is almost certainly done in D.C., while 32-year-old RG Chris Chester is a release candidate due to his $3.5 million salary and a $400,000 roster bonus. LG Shawn Lauvao was a predictable 2014 free agent flop.

OLB: Brian Orakpo's contract is up, and he is not expected back in D.C. after tearing a pectoral muscle for the third time in his career. 2014 second-round pick Trent Murphy's long-term ceiling is a run-stopping Jarret Johnson type. Murphy lacks NFL-quality pass-rush tools. The Redskins need a true franchise pass rusher to team with Ryan Kerrigan off the edge.

QB: This depends entirely on how coach Jay Gruden feels about Robert Griffin III, whose play has regressed in consecutive seasons since his Rookie of the Year award. Gruden was down enough on Griffin's fit in his offense that he benched him for Colt McCoy last season. Gruden at least seems to realize Kirk Cousins isn't the answer. But it's quite possible the Redskins use a middle-round pick on a quarterback.

2) the Hawks may be arrogant....but they aren't crass cheats like the pats

next to the boys/Iggles/Gints...the pats are easily the most dislikable team in the NFL..at least for me. I dispise anyone/any organization that suffers significant lapses in the integrity dept.

and Brady? how's it going Tom? it was passed to me last night from someone in the grp I was watching the game with that Tom Terrific dumped his then 8 month pregnant girlfriend for Giselle. If true...what a guy! what a man! It is true...btw.

The Patriots dominated that game except on the scoreboard. The Seahawks are dynamic enough when they want to be and able to score in stretches - but better team? I think not. The vaunted 'Legion of Boom' got gutted by Brady all day long and had no answers in the 2nd half either. Dislike the Patriots all you want, but they outplayed Seattle almost the entire game and deserved to win.
 
opinions vary. I thought Seattle was in control for most of the game. NE exploited an injury to the safety as a good team should (using the very same play!).....but they were mostly confined to a quick, short passing game and 50 passes says all one needs to know abt the running game. SE...IMO...has the better team and had the game in hand. we all know it was a stupid playcall at the end of the game.

the bottom line in my book is that Seattle beat themselves.

NE sails thru every season in their always weak division...plays two playoff games and off they go. they'll be back in it next season due to how weak the AFC is top to bottom. it's a nice formula if can depend upon bad ownership/leadership in Miami, NY and Buffalo!

NE winning is a black eye on the NFL. it's time people ante up to the real nature of the people at the top of the pyramid on that team who they/what they truly are. see BB piece for a start.

Bullshit. Go look at the stat line. Seattle had more 3 and outs than pass completions in the first half. Yes, to their credit they scored to close the first half and had a couple good drives to start the half. But New England's defense was Seattle's equal yesterday and offensively drove on the Seattle D at will. Diminishing that by saying it was all short passing isn't entirely accurate, and even if it was, it doesn't matter - an 80 yard drive is an 80 yard drive no matter what plays were called.

The stupid play call at the end was only possible because of the previous fluke reception the play before, and the bottom line is that it was the Seattle coaches who wilted under the pressure, not New England's.

Not trying to be argumentative, but New England won that game and deserves credit. If we really want to talk 'deserving' take a look at the Seahawks-Packers game and tell me Seattle deserved to win that one :)
 
Setting aside differences of opinion, I had what felt like the flu all day yesterday - fever, chills, nausea. I huddled under 4 blankets all day long, no Super Bowl fun for me. But I enjoyed watching those Seahawks die a horrible death, in the most painful way imaginable, maybe more than anything I've ever watched.

The nasty carrion-eating bird is dead, dead, dead and I couldn't be happier!
 
Like I said....opinions vary.

You and I both know that had that been the Skins we'ld all be here wanking about the playcall and how we managed to lose a game on the cusp of victory.

Not being argumentative either - calling it as I see it. aand...yup...GB shld have won that game. And Seattle should have won last night. Aside from the stupid playcall at the end....what I saw was a superior Seattle team whose coaching philosophy on defense got in the way of dominating NE. NE had abt 3 secs to get off a pass......that's a sure fire signal of an over-matched o-line. Instead of closing the deal and completely dominating...Seattle made no effort to conceal their defensive scheme each play. make no mistake...Seattle..talent-wise...is far superior to NE. In my book...they beat themselves...both with the obvious play and their unwillingness to bend on strategy.
 
I loved watching Seattle lose. And on top of that, it was actually a great game.

One thing came to mind though. I kept asking myself if RG3 could ever actually win a SB. I have to admit that I don't see it.

If that's the case, then we need to either develop Cousins, or draft another QB in the middle rounds of this upcoming draft.
 
I would say unless there is some sort of controversial reffing decision, the team that won is the better team. Period. You can argue the playcall all you want, but in the end, they called it. That was a decision made by that team, and it lost them the game. If they were the better team, they don't make that call, or execute it in a way that doesn't result in a loss.

They didn't get the game taken away from them. They lost the game by their actions, which, by default, makes them the worse team. One play does not make a game, it just puts the exclamation point on it.

Not a shot. If I wanted to take a shot for some reason, I'd just post either today's Washington Post article with Tim Brown's comments, or the comments from Ryan Clark's ex-teammate saying that almost everyone in the locker room hates Griffin.

I don't care about who hates him, and that will change if he can win.

I just don't see him ever taking a team to the SB. He won't ever be anything close to a Brady (few are) and he no longer has the mobility of Wilson. I don't see how that ends favorably.
 
You also "saw" josh Gordon as a great trade, Silas redd as the best back, gruden as this amazing head coach, and Winston as our next qb.

Sorry, man, but you're taking shots even when you try to explain how you aren't taking shots.
