Random Commanders Thoughts

I'm a knee-jerk hater homer. But, I'm no idiot.

(And, how did you know how I dress at home? Weird.)

I better stop seeing the labels and insults guys. We can just shut the board down for a couple months if you guys can't discuss without the nastiness. Try me.

Well, its clearly evident there's a handful of posters that spew venom and hate at the front office and organization because that is there sole agenda. I can name them but everyone knows. I would recommend that you have a thread for those haters so they can have folks that agree with them and they can form their circle jerk in an endless loop. Then have a thread, like the positive only thread, that others can post to that also think alike. Apparently, the haters just can't stand the other folks posting positve vibe and support the team. that goes way beyond criticizing the front office. That may not be ideal, but at least some can have a meaningful intellilgent dialoge without the incessant whining and crying about how things will never change and we are doomed and if you don't go along with this line of thought you are a loser. that nonsense has got to stop. If not I support you shutting it down.

Well let's hope they're saving the eye of Rah's pink slip for last. Safe to say we will all do the 'Carlton' then?

I'm not going to derail the thread by hijacking it to discuss board philosophy, but I will say this.

We've been open going on 6 years guys. We don't heavily moderate (we BARELY moderate). We don't censor (unless you call expecting people to show a modicum of civility censorship). We don't have 150 rules to abide by and cite them to members every 5 minutes as if we were their Overlords. We don't ban (I think we've banned 3 total members in over 6 years for posting issues). We don't tell people what they can post in this thread, or that thread (except for our preference to keep politics and religion off the site - because it became clear we couldn't have those discussions in friendly, respectful ways). We don't moderate because we disagree with someone's viewpoint, or because they hold the minority view. We don't promote a 'herd mentality' and encourage mocking and 'labeling' of members we might disagree with. In short, the staff here know what kind of site we are, what kind of site we want to be, and what kind of site we'll do whatever it takes to be. We can manage, I promise :)

If there are folks who don't like the culture here, it's a free country, and there are alternatives out there.

Now, let's return to Random Redskins Thoughts please.

I like this woman.

As the Redskins begin to reshape the coaching staff on defense, league sources have told me Raheem Morris is talking with other teams.

Does anyone else picture 'Jaws' from the James Bond movies whenever Joe Jacoby's name comes up? That's always been how I've visualized him. Random, huh?

Mike, people are people.

Do you really think the attributes of a successful head coach or coordinator is any different than a leader in the US Army or a CEO in a dynamic business?

Why is Bellichick successful?

He's organized. He prepares well and knows who can help him and who is not a fit. He is serious and holds people accountable, not being afraid to make changes where necessary.

He evaluates draft picks, trades and free agents on a value basis and is loathe to overpay for a declining player or give up too much to move up in April even if a guy who can help him may be chosen by another team earlier in the draft.

Is Bellichick living in the past?

How about Thompson/McCarthy in Green Bay?

How about the Ravens organization?

These teams are winning games and Super Bowls while the Redskins are in the basement for the sixth time in seven years.

Doesn't it seem reasonable to conclude the Redskins are the ones doing things the wrong way?

I like to cheer but I also like to think.

Oh, I'm sorry. But we were asked to stop this conversation. If you want to try and discuss this with me further a PM might be replied to. But this isn't anything I'm willing to do with you in public anymore.

Sorry, I dont remember getting any notification to that effect. Oops, if I dropped protocol 😳

Unless he finally hands over the pics of Dan & Vinny playing doctor. Same reason he's been with the team this long.

Raheem Morris has been in touch with the Atlanta Falcons for a DB job per sources. He has strong ties to soon to be head coach Dan Quinn
