Random Commanders Thoughts

I thought I just saw on the Twitterz they gave him more power? Different title or something?

I've heard he wants out of his contract. Apparently turmoil between him and upper management. I personally don't think he's happy in the NFL

Chippy just got the keys to the personnel dept... now he goes down in flames like Holmgren

Yep - Kelly is now head of player personnel too. GM Roseman is now an Executive VP (a promotion that takes him out of player selection). Sounds like Kelly gave them an ultimatum.

Should we take a run at Roseman then? That'd be fun to do to the birds.

I would be looking at the assistant GMs of teams like the 49ers, Packers, Hawks or Steelers.

I read somewhere that AJ Smith is in the crosshairs of a couple of teams that are interested in naming him their GM.

That might trump our attempts to bring him back as a Senior Consultant while giving Allen the lollipop of hanging onto the GM and Team President titles.

Fingers crossed that's what's going on behind the curtain, with DC interviews in the open.

It didn't appear that way a couple of years ago, but it is turning out that Bruce Allen in attempting to retain his own power has become part of the problem here in DC rather than the solution.

What at good would it do when they miss on some players and some second and third rounders don't start right away you will complain about them

It will be AJ Smith. There's no question about it.

And don't believe any rumors you may hear about there being any competition for his services. Those will be leaks from both sides--AJ trying to drive up his price, and our FO trying to make him appeared desired by others.

You can also be 100% certain that the Skins will make an obvious effort to show him on camera as often as possible in Ashburn for the first week or two in an attempt to make it seem like he's engaged 100%.

How many days a week he'll stay in CA after the first three weeks of the season remains to be seen. It may just be a "We'll take it from here, AJ" if Dan wants to exert influence.

If next season doesn't go well, fans will begin to revolt by game 8 that AJ isn't around enough. Tandler will start to report on his location and schedule.

If it ends really badly, Bruce will try to assure us that AJ will be around the park much more in the following season. Egg throwing at that press conference may commence shortly thereafter--with Bruce being physically removed from the building.

Hopefully things go much better than that scenario just described. I almost feel dirty for typing it. But it's what we've come to expect.

Do you have anything to back any of that up?

Or is that all opinion?

It's just a matter of seeing what sticks and it might be better said as 'what some have come to expect'

MCD, the part that truly makes me disagree with that... opinion of an assessment is that you've taken no stance on how SMITH feels about that happening. You don't get into the NFL without a level of ego (ie.. see Chip Kelly). Smith isn't a homegrown buddy around here who's been working for Snyder under previous failed regime's. The guy has a track record of success in certain aspects elsewhere. If he takes it, I don't see him taking the new business cards for the sake of face saving. He doesn't NEED this job. If he takes it, it's because he wants it, and I would imagine he would want to succeed.

Well, it appears we are trying to get some definite experience in-house.

Smith is 65 and Wade Phillips is 67.

Anyone see the movie Grumpy Old Men?😊

How old was buddy Ryan in 1985? 55..age doesn't mean a thing. Stop being the grumpy old fan.

Just thought it should be mentioned, Todd Bowles and Greg Manusky (2 former Redskins), coached their defenses in the playoffs this weekend.
