Random Commanders Thoughts

The fact they said his salary is paid for year 4 makes me think he's not gone quite yet. I'll be in the minority if need be but I'm not sold on them shipping him off yet

I don't see how that's significant though - the Redskins could still ask and expect an interested team to pay them for his salary cost for 2015 (whether it's paid already or not is irrelevant isn't it?). I'm not trying to be negative, but I think the idea that the Redskins benched Griffin to 'motivate' him is wishful thinking. You don't make that move unless you've pretty much decided he can't get the job done. My opinion.

Because its still rookie contract and already paid.

I hear you on the wishful thinking..the whole colt thing is, too. We all have our hopes..and mine is Griffin takes this temporary benching and comes back. It's happened with other players and it's up to him.

Not to beat a dead horse, I am guessing the pay issue neither means they intend to keep nor is a stumbling block if they get an offer for him and let him go - they can require the team to cover his salary cost. I don't think Gruden likes him, and I think he's decided he's not the guy to lead his offense. You can't trust what is said publically because there's nothing to be gained now by talking down Griffin in any way, or telegraphing your intentions. I've probably been Griffin's biggest cheerleader here, and have tried to continue to believe until now. It doesn't matter if I think Griffin could still be the 2012 Griffin with some patience and great coaching - I don't believe Gruden believes it.

His salary is already paid and like 1 mil, I believe. That does matter when it comes to draft and being forced to find another qb.

Because if colt fails they will have to go back to griffin. No way cousins gets in.

Good morning everyone.

Some interesting info from Tandler today. He says Trent will play RT.

That's really odd if true. Moses did ok but except for trying to work him back up to speed I can't see how you move a stud out of his position.

We'll see kickoff time.

I agree, unless it's just for this game and maybe because of Trent's injury.

Aaaaaannnndd I get chargers at ratbirds for today's viewing pleasure.

Just to stamp it home the local Fox station has NFL FOOTBALL on the preview banner. Click over to watch and it's an hour commercial on the ****ing Nutribullet blender...I shit u not.

Drives me insane....swear I'd eat an eagle egg omelette right now with puppy bacon.

Serious question....did Haz even have the guys practice this week?

Well, here we are after another overall poor performance. I would like to put this on Jim Haslett, even though Andrew Luck is a good QB who knows how to beat pressure. Haslett gave up on the blitz packages after getting beat twice. For the rest of the game, he played zones that Luck was able to pick apart for 5 TD's.

Yeah, the offense missed some golden opportunities...no denying that, but the offense did score 27 points.

Gruden to blame? Yeah, I am not sold on that. Haslett is more to blame, but the fact is we have a talent deficiency. We just aren't that good as a whole. Blame Haslett, blame Gruden, blame Griffin, blame McCoy...it doesn't matter who is to blame. The prognosis is simple...Shanahan left a huge ****ing mess. We need to rebuild.

So what happens next?

Well, to be honest, I would like to see Gruden say, **** it!" and quit! I would like him to go public with it and call out Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder because that is where I think the "fault" truly lies. The players are no good, the coaches call poor games, and our scouting department keeps bringing in one good player for every third bad one, it seems. We are in the same situation as we have been for too long. It goes beyond coaching and players and that needs to be put on display or we will continue down the path of sub-medicority.

Id have to agree with everything you said. Id like to see us keep a coach for more then a single season. Id like us to not be the joke of, "Cant keep a coach." or "Talent killing team." As ive seen washington labeled on social media and bleacher report. I have confidence in Gruden that 2015 will see a lot of our "vet" players taking a hike as well as the coaches. But things could just go to crap and we can have another season to wait for something good. Im on the fence with good and bad. I prefer good though.

I was pretty much numb and emotionless watching the game today. I just laughed when we went for it on 4th and half a yard and gave up a sack fumble touchdown, what else could you do? The quarterback position is not the problem, it is the whole ****ing organization, and every one in it.

We get a touchdown, are back in the game, extra point we get a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty, then a offsides on the kickoff. 2 plays later they score a touchdown. There is absolutely zero discipline on this team.

It's hard to be a Redskins fan. I keep saying we need to stick to a QB through growing pains, I need to listen to myself on Gruden, cause I want him gone something bad, but we need to go through the growing pains with a HC also........

I don't really see us winning but maybe 1 more game this year if we are lucky, which make it unacceptable what they charge for tickets to put that piece of shit on the field for us to pay for. I have seen others say that they will just tailgate and bring TVs in the parking lot to watch the games. Would it send Danny a message if he had a full parking lot, but an empty stadium? I highly doubt it. Sucks to even have to think like this.

We have no leadership. None. On any level. I don't see that changing anytime soon until we somehow stumble across someone forceful enough to mold the culture purposefully and carefully (like Gibbs, Parcells, etc). I do not think that person is Gruden. Gruden strikes me so far as a guy who could call a pretty good game as a coordinator, but is struggling big time with the all encompassing job that is head coach. I think he could grow into it, but I'm not positive he can, and I kind of doubt Danny gives him the chance, particularly if we lose the rest of our games. Danny didn't bring Gruden in here to repeat 3-13, of that I am certain.

I hate to be pessimistic, but at this point, we are going to have to get lucky and find the perfect person who can come in and change the culture successfully.

We can only hope the Gmen can Coughlin, and he wants to continue coaching.

Everyone wants a resolution yesterday. If it's ever gonna get fixed we're in for a lot more of this first. You all make valid arguments for who is to blame. You're ALL right to a certain degree which means a LOT has to change. I like pancakes.

I like turtles!

The reality is, the current course is likely a failed mission too. Would rather see it blown up now than watch another 3-4 years of this, only to see it fail, then we'll have to rebuild...again.
