Random Commanders Thoughts

Hey, we all look back at things and laugh about owning this or that. But the reality is we got it because at the time we loved it. Those things can be a reminder of some awesome times in life. Remembering them is great. The problem is only when we hold on to that time too long. Then we become Uncle Rico.

Except Griffin is still under contract and Rico is in a van down by the river.

I saw this headline on ESPN and got excited for a second.

Someone had to do it...lol

In all honesty though...I remember him being on the way down and splitting time.

True, it's not like we have enough drama or anything, lol.

About the only "trouble maker" I'd want in FA next year is Suh. He'd look good next to Baker on the line.

May I just humbly and respectfully suggest that we all simply show some degree, any degree, of support for the guy who is currently the starting QB of the team that we are a fan of, at least until he has given us a clear reason not to ? So far, he has not given any such reason. Not during his Redskins' tenure.

Mr Boone, can I nominate The Spear to blog us through the rest of the season? Copy and past the first sentence to a banner for all Redskins fans to rally around. We need the positivity.

Honestly - I don't think there will be a Redskin's fan in America who won't be rooting for Colt to light it up on Sunday and beyond. Folks are grieving the failure of Griffin and they need time to get over that. It's like being the kid whose Dad leaves. The next boyfriend isn't ever going to measure up to beloved Dad. It's human nature.

I can admit there is a part of me that knows if colt loses this place is going to turn in to a big ol passing match.

There is also a part of me that knows if he wins there will be one about how the defense of the Colts sucks compared to SF.

Skins have downgraded Biggers. He's out for Sunday's game. Just what we needed...

Don't think it's much about win or lose, probably more about overall performance of Colt.

We pretty much know his general limitations compared to Griff's talent, arm is weaker, not as speedy and less potential for off schedule playmaking. What he does have going is that pocket thing that Griff has yet to currently get into.

Griff looked OK for Minny, struggled in Bucs and SF, a crazy step back that's just hard to figure for whatever reasons.

Colt, if nothing else, can offer a 'calming' effect with a steady performance, he might not be spectacular but the team should be able to just play football knowing that efforts stand a better chance of being rewarded with a little more competence in the pocket.

Mike, I think the conversation about whether Griffin is the guy is effectively over. It doesn't matter how anyone feels about his benching - he's done here, short of some kind of miracle. Nor is anyone expecting any more wins this year. So I think most are just going to be watching to see if Colt can look as effective as he did in his only other 2 games. And the expectations being pretty low, I don't see anyone getting excited too much either way. I hope he plays well, if for no other reason than that I can't stand draft talk when the NFL season is far from over.

Meh..I'm not in that boat. But then again I'm never really in any boat. Boats are too scary.

Ian Rappaport was just on tv saying the skins haven't given up on him and that next year's salary is already paid for so they don't have to worry about what to do with him yet.

You can't trust anything said by Redskins coaches or front office people. They were calling Robert the starter this week until they were calling him the backup. I also don't think you'll see them say anything from here on out that might diminish his value further. It serves no purpose. It is what it is. But barring some miracle (like Colt going down and Griffin lighting it up beyond belief) I just don't see him starting again anytime soon, if ever.
